MemberConversationalistSep-18-2020 9:08 AMRoger G, that's great news and I am happy for Ridley Scott and for myself :)
I would have been happier to see the sequel to Alien Covenant, who knows, maybe Disney will greenlight it if Raised by Wolves got a second season.
Fingers crossed.

MemberRespectedSep-20-2020 5:08 AMRoger G: Maybe the only thing that was needed for the writer was to be able to hold a pen. If you can do that you’ll get the job. ;) Combine that with the fetishism for AI that Scott has and you have a disaster, although a good looking one. Just knowing that this will be more android-dung makes me stay away from it.

MemberMartianSep-22-2020 3:16 PMGonzo!
Indeed i did Notice from the First Trailer what appeared to be a bit like the Space Jockey ;) i wonder HOW MUCH he was adding to this TV Series that he had PLANNED for the Sequel to Alien Covenant... i was drawn in 2018 to Speculate that David would Engineer/Evolve the Human Embryo's into a Hybrid and i WOULD NOT have been Surprised if ONE of these Ended Up as our Space Jockey!

MemberConversationalistSep-22-2020 4:46 PMIn this case the Space Jockey would be a hybrid between a human embryo and an engineer space suit or a vacuum cleaner.

MemberConversationalistSep-22-2020 4:56 PMRoger G that dead Gonzo is an alien, some creature that lived on that planet before the androids arrived?
Thanks for the links you posted, right now I am unable to watch videos online, ****ty internet connection.
Do you know when episode 10 will be streamed, I suppose it should be about two weeks from now.

Admin2KSep-22-2020 5:17 PMI've posted this in a couple other threads because I think it needs addressing; Ridley Scott didn't create Raised by Wolves, Aaron Guzikowski did and he has repeatedly stated that his series has nothing to do with Alien or Prometheus.
Apart from some stylistic choices and directing a couple episodes Ridley Scott isn't that involved besides being a producer. The themes/ideas in Raised by Wolves most certainly do not come from him, they come from Aaron as he conceived and wrote the story.
Don't get me wrong, I love Ridley Scott, but it seems like his name is overshadowing the actual creator's and I really feel like Aaron Guzikowski should be given the credit he deserves.
************************
-Here is a nice article about how he came to work with Ridley Scott on the project: Raised By Wolves creator wants to know what will "Lead us out of the darkness"
Excerpt:
'Speaking of sci-fi characters and fear, you get the master of that — Ridley Scott — to open the first two episodes of your show. How did that come about?
I’d written the script and I’d brought it into his production company, Scott Free. I didn’t imagine he was going to direct it, just that they would produce it. But he read it and he responded to it — apparently he started drawing the storyboards immediately afterward, which was incredible.
When I heard that on the phone I was like, “Holy s***! That’s amazing, is he really going to do it?” I still didn't really believe it. But before you know it, we were in South Africa shooting. It was amazing, as soon as he got on board it started rolling along like a freight train. He was just having a great time, inspired to tell this story.'
-Here is another great interview with Aaron Guzikowski. He talks about what inspired him to create the show, the themes he chose to use, etc.
*For the record, I quite like the show and am active in the subreddit r/raisedbywolves.

Thats because Gonzo is the Space Jockey ;)
Davids next Adventure is to Experiment and play Doctor Moreau on Origae-6 with those Embryos... so it will indeed be a LOT like Muppet Babbie's ;)
@Svanya
Thanks for that Information... when we FIRST heard about Raised by Wolves it did sound a BIT like how i had in 2018 Interpreted what RS was going to do NEXT..
As in David pretends to be Walter, Sets up a Colony (kills the Adults) then Raises some Engineered Human Embryo's on the Origae-6 while Pretending to be their Creator and to Raise them in a Cultist Fashion... Until a Incoming Human Ship lands with a Doppelganger of their GOD (a Walter Model) and Humans and then David has a Dilemma as these Humans could Influence his Civilization he had Established and THEY would Discover he is NOT their Creator/God and their TRUE Origins are Human...
Thats kind of WHAT i thought that the Sequel to Alien Covenant would have Partially been about ;)
@SuperAlien
Thanks for the Share ;)
PS... This should maybe had BEEN the Poster for Ridley Scotts sequel to Alien Covenant ;)

I still regret Ridley Scott was not allowed to do the sequel to Alien Covenant.

Member2KSep-25-2020 1:27 AMAs was pointed out to me--much to my relief--RS only directed two episodes, the rest are all on whoever else.
Thankfully!!
I couldn't face the idea of RS being responsible for this incoherent trainwreck.
He launched it...the other guys steered it straight into a neutron star.

Member2KSep-25-2020 1:41 AMI am sorely tempted to do my own version off this debacle...
Of Lions & Lambs
Premise;
Humanity has followed it's destiny and shattered it's civilization, devastation thundered across the stars leaving but few savage remnants possessing still-workable technology.
Magdalenaehra, Alpha-Materna and penultimate mother figure for the Human children under protection of The Pride.
Aehrimanys, Alpha-Sire of The Pride, the ultimate father figure and example for the Human children to learn from regarding all they will need to know in meeting the future and challenging it on it's terms.
The Pride, Five Ares and Five Artemis who stand as Guardians, Sentinels and Sensei to their young charges..ten beings who will stop at absolutely nothing to protect the Human children. They are a group of Chimerans who have taken it upon themselves to save Humanity from extinction, raising children born from Optimized Natural Human DNA
If RS wants to jump in on this, he'd be quite welcome of course!

MemberMartianSep-25-2020 8:34 AMSeems a Similar Premise to RBW ;)
I think the Premise to RBW seemed Good, but i have YET to see it but seems the Execution of the Plot and Themes seems to STEER into Areas where it Goes Off the Rails a Little.
I will have to wait until the UK Release to give a Go, and well its a case of something to Watch to pass the Time Away. If the Execution is Poor then i am NOT sure how his Bolds Well for any ALIEN Movie that would Tackle such Themes...
But then i think RS has Started to Accept maybe such things as far as a Continuation of his Ideas for the Prequels are Dead in the Water regardless.

Member2KSep-25-2020 3:06 PMSame basic premise, absolutely, just my own take on the Base-Line idea.
The Key Diferences between my idea and RBW is that
1; there's no Marvel Comics type Hyper Android 'Angels'.
2; Religion gets shunted out entirely apart from being shown that it is a dangerous atavism that needs to be left behind forever.
3; The salvation of Humanity is NOT brought about by Hand-of-Man disaster-planning or by Contingency-thinking AI...but by Compassion and Hope extended by those of what is essentially an alien species.
4; It would explore what it is to be Human vs, merely looking like one and possessing Human physiology.
5; There'd be some really awesome combat/action sequences.
6; Chimerans, even though they are NOT Human, are relatable in Human ways...mostly.
7; It'd be fun, sad, tragic, terrifying, uplifting, enlightening, hopeful, and with luck it'd be something folks would find Satisfying.
Magdalenaehra & Aehrimanys:
Aehrimanys: "Tell me, why are we going to consider doing this?"
Magdalenaehra; "If the situation were reversed, would you not wish for someone to reach out and try to preserve OUR people versus extinction?"
Aehrimanys: "They did it to themselves."
Magdalenaehra; "Yes, they did... and now it's a clean slate. Humanity can begin again, and this time with a genuine hope of avoiding past mistakes, perhaps even learning from them."
Aehrimanys: "The council will never approve this, there'll be no support."
Magdalenaehra; "Then we do it ourselves, I'll find others who wish to help. We can sell-off a bunch of things in the inventory and that'll give us what we need to build a support under us. We can mine the system's asteroids, sell the proceeds, and that'll keep us afloat financially."
Aehrimanys: "One last point..."
Magdalenaehra; "What?"
Aehrimanys: "Why?"
Magdalenaehra; "A Human made us, brought us into being from an act of compassion. We've all seen the records, and heard Lyllith speak of her father, our Creator. We are better than Humans, and the same compassion and love that brought us into being, that wrought us from nothingness has to be returned, it's only right."
