But Stanley Kubrick is the man to beat (Prometheus has a lot to deliver to surpass 2001:a space odyssey)

MemberNoobMar-30-2012 4:28 AMHi Guys!
I'm Keith and i from Sunny Scarborough UK
I have been fascinated by the Alien and Predator franchises for a long time, but i am TERRIFIED by gigers creature. I watched Aliens when i was 8 and it scared me for life and can no longer sleep with the light off.
I'm hoping Prometheus will fix this for me!
aside this i love the extended universe and cant wait for this Movie!

MemberNoobMar-31-2012 1:38 PMHey everyone. I've been following this website for quite a while now and finally decided to create a profile. I'm way excited for Prometheus just like everyone else here. I grew up having nightmares about the alien films and I've always considered Giger's alien to be the scariest of all aliens depicted on film. I've grown to love Ridley Scott's movies over the years and respect his work very much so. Hope to have some fun discussing things with everyone her at prometheus-movie.com. :)

MemberNoobMar-31-2012 3:23 PMWhat's happening, Biz72 here. I swear I registered under another name on this site before, but couldn't figure out how to retrieve my password. No "contact an admin" tab anywhere, or am I having a mini-stroke? Anyhow, longtime Alien/s fan. Dad took me to see the original in the theatre at the tender age of 6. Not his fault, I begged and pleaded thinking it was something along the lines of Forbidden Planet. Yeah, I know. In '86, we went to Cameron's sequel. I remember being physically tired after that roller coaster ride. Sounds silly, but that movie probably had a slight influence on me joining the Marines 8 years later. True story. Not a fan of 3 or resurrection, sorry to those that are. Looking forward to some good discussion.

MemberNoobApr-01-2012 1:07 PMHi all, just a quick one to say hello :). Has anyone noticed in the trailers so far that the Space jockey looks more of a human size than when looking at the original one in Alien? The arm alone in Alien looks about the length of tom skerrit?

Admin2KApr-01-2012 7:29 PMHello everyone,
I joined because this site is really amazing, the way you guys talk about Prometheus and the discussions about what the movie could be about are just fantastic. I really enjoy reading everything posted. I can't wait to see the movie. :)
I saw Alien when I was 7 (I snuck into the TV room while my parents had a dinner party!) and I was hooked and have wanted a Xeno as a pet ever since LOL! I Love the Aliens franchise, esp. the Androids/synthetics; Ash, Bishop and Call and can't wait to see what the newest addition, David, will be like.
No surprise, I am a huge fan of Ridley Scott, HR Giger and "Blade Runner" as well.

MemberNoobApr-03-2012 7:26 PMHi folks,
...I thought it was about time to join the board since I'm psyched about this movie as all of you. For starters, I live in Michigan and appreciate all the Prometheus material that I've been browsing on the site. The Alien still-shot my book was my introduction to the film ( I might have 12ish at that time) and nothing compares to this film. Think I bought the Quadrilogy at Breast Buy after the price came down (even at full price it's worth every cent)..finally, we get the backstory after 30 years! Well, suppose that it for right now (my Ativan and a full stomach is hitting me!) BTW, Rush rules!

MemberNoobApr-03-2012 7:39 PMI just recognized that "BTW" can stand for Between The Wheels from P/G..I've seen them live on every tour since Roll The Bones (outdoor venues also rule). Myself and a friend drove to Sarnia for an outdoor show during the "Time Machine" tour a couple of summers ago...too bad his 1994 felony for an LSD bust sent him back to Port Huron :S...I was on Alex's side about 20 feet from the stage. My ears are still ringing from that show.

MemberNoobApr-04-2012 1:47 AMHi all! Duke here. Finally signed up for this forum after reading the posts for weeks (slacker!). Never have I been in such anticipation of a movie as this one. 'Alien' ranks as my personal favorite movie. A great story, well acted, with edge of your seat suspense the whole way through. Really happy and excited to see Ridley Scott return and attempt to answer the big Space Jockey question. My hope is that the movie indeed lives up to all the hype. Too often we see movies that come out with really cool trailers only to be a disappointment in the theater. I like what I see so far in the trailers, and hope they don't come out with too much more, as I feel that would spoil the fun. I'll be there June 8th!

MemberNoobApr-04-2012 3:25 AMHi everyone!!..I myself am totally an Aliens fan, even AVP no doubt...Just want to point out that the concept of having element of the proceeding movie is totally doable, but base on the character(the jockey) in this film I can't understand why there is a hard time with this being a prequel. Either way it still is some connection with the 1979 movie Alien.

I have been following this community for months before finally wanting to immerse my self here into this river of threads and discussions, like one of those Martians in war of the worlds.
Many thanks from France, Afghanistan, the Everglades, Norway, Australia and Britain.

MemberNoobApr-04-2012 5:54 PMGreetings to Everyone..
Long time fan of ALIEN eversince 1979 when I first saw it on the big screen. Was the only movie that scared the crap out of me.
I very much look forward to seeing this "Prequel", I feel my inner child getting excited about it and I try to keep away from a lot of the postings that might have tid bits about the plot/story/script, really ruins it for me.
Bad enough that I keep going back to see the trailers, pausing it and disecting what could be happening. Shouldn't do it, but cannot help it.
