MemberNoobMar-23-2012 7:58 AMHello to everyone, glad to be a part of this great website...
Cannot wait until the movies release, all indications are that it will be just as fantastic as ALIEN which IMHO was the finest SciFi movie ever made and still to this day scares the crap out of me...
I confess that I did read the leaked script and I believe it true as there are so many indicators in the trailers, some of which were not seen until after the script surfaced, anyhow we'll all find out soon enough...

Co-AdminMemberNoobMar-23-2012 1:31 PMHello All! I must say I am impressed in this Prometheus community! It is awesome to know how many diehard Alien (and franchise) fans there are out in the world!
I too have been a long time fan of Scott's original, including Cameron's Aliens.
However judgemental of 3 and Ressurection, I still love to watch them all.
AVP, eh... not so much.
HR Giger is and always has been an inspiration to me as an artist. As a lover of the macabre and dark art, he surely is a master. I cannot wait to see what he has to offer in Prometheus! It was a wise decision for Ridley to come full circle with Giger!
So, I've read up on a lot of members ideas on the plot of Prometheus, and I think a lot of you have some great points! I for one think this movie is going to center around life and death, immortality and dna in general. We shall see!
Nice to be apart of this group, look forward to meeting you all.

MemberNoobMar-23-2012 6:52 PMHi, I'm a musician from the UK. Fan of Alienm since my dad let me watch it when I was 10. I had to go to bed, then he came and woke me up. I drew alien pictures for about a year afterwards.
Scott's directorial style with this movie has definately influenced my own creative output as a proffessional musician - sparse, understated, less is more, desolate.. Click below for an example..

MemberNoobMar-25-2012 9:51 PMi'm excited about Prometheus. this is the doppelganger to the Star Trek Disney-esque future. i bet that when we do finally go to Mars and beyond it will be on the dime of a massive corporation looking to score some serious mineral rights, etc
you fan boys scare me. i don't want to hear any more about the movie. blah blah blah wahhhhhh i can't hear you anymore
i can only take so much of the speculation before i worry that it might ruin the movie experience. i hope you guys don't ruin it for yourselves

MemberNoobMar-26-2012 3:56 AMGood Day! Nice to be here. I think I'm in the right place as I can see that there are many passionate fans about the Alien Universe, and everyone seems as obsessed as I am in regards to the Prometheus saga that is about to unfold before us in a few (agonizingly slow) months. Here is to great discussion, polite debate, and interesting ideas/speculation. After all, it is all we have to sustain us.

MemberNoobMar-26-2012 2:49 PMHi, Im totally brand new to all this Forum stuff so hope i dont commit any faux pas. By new i think i should clarify, not once have i ever joined a forum....ever, so interesting times for me. I love ALIEN, ALIENS and AvP requiem ( sorry i just really liked that film in-spite of myself) er oh and additionally really liked PREDATORS too.
Im getting insanely into this film i cant wait, i have a strong feeling that it will rock. I think that the caliber of cast and crew will pay dividends to the result and Ridley Scott is the cherry on the cake......and the icing. I keep thinking back to when The Dark Knight was released, i had been chomping at the bit to see it and all the hype and trailers and interviews were torture, then, once bathed in all the Imax glory, i was blown away, it feels like that all over again very exciting.
This site is a diamond in the rough too, very absorbing.

MemberNoobMar-26-2012 4:25 PMHey guys, "Alien" bieng my favorite sci-fi franchise, I'm sure I'll love "Prometheus".
Hope, I'm not too much informed about the plot of the film by all that trailers.
I'd prefer R-rated cut, but unfortunately Fox decided to make more money and it'll be PG-13.
Well, let's be optimistic.

MemberNoobMar-26-2012 7:24 PMHi there, I'm new to the site, but not new to the "Alien" universe. I begged my mom at age 8 to drag me out to see Alien (my first "R" movie, lol) and she never forgave me. Been a MONSTER fan ever since, and have been following the Prometheus lines for at least a year. I don't think I've been as excited about an upcoming movie since maybe the original Alien or perhaps SWEpIII...
I see so much wonder and vision in this movie. I can only wish that RS would do a bang bang bang trilogy perhaps leading into Alien...or not.
Thanks for the great site...

MemberNoobMar-26-2012 11:54 PMHowdy everyone!
I've been a peeper on this site for a while now and I finally signed up.
hmm I guess I should say a little about me, I like Movies (obviously) music, fine art, history, outer space (mostly because of childhood.)
I have to say one of my first memory's is of the TV ad campaign for Alien, I remember my Aunt telling all about the movie when I had no idea that we even were on a planet or what an alien was.... let me tell you it blew my mind as a 2 year old. haha

MemberNoobMar-27-2012 5:25 AMMorning all,
I just singned up after hanging around for a while now. Big fan of Ridley Scott, and most of the Alien movies. Would have given a body part to work on Prometheus but never got a foot in the door. I am a concept Artist/Designer/Modeller etc. I have done a few little things in TV but would like to get into movies one day. If you want you can check out my site here www.lee-ray.com.
I read the leaked sypnopsis last year while they were filming and must admit I was blown away just by the ideas in the single page, lord knows what the full movie is going to be like but so far it seems to be looking like its going down the route of the outline which I am encouraged by. Looking forward to some informed debate and also some wild speculation as you usually get with these type of movies.
Thanks for to the mods for putting this site together and for having me.
cheers

MemberNoobMar-27-2012 11:50 AMI'm semi-retired now, but I used to make websites for music and movie companies in Hollywood. I'm a big fan of all the Alien movies, and all of Ridley Scott's work. I think that Scott is like Prince, who can play a zillion different instruments, in that he is very talented in many aspects of film making, not just directing.

MemberNoobMar-28-2012 12:26 AMHello everyone! I was 4 or 5 when ALIEN came out. I didn't see it untill it was on TV a year or two later, but I got the Kenner ALIEN figure for Christmas and was obsessed with the creature the whole time and even made a little book about the alien (I guess it would classify as fan fiction). Upon actually watching ALIEN, I was emotionally scarred and have been a devoted fan ever since.

MemberNoobMar-28-2012 6:41 PMHi, I have been a victim of the Alien series since 1979 at around 8 pm on a cold and windy night in Albuquerque N.M.. It is my favorite Sci Fi anything since I was a kid! Thanks for creating this site.

Not everyone aboard the Prometheus is game for what happens.... Fruit for thought.
Creative thoughts bring me to a conclusion, there is no bonus situation in this film as well. What the hell?! I want my bonus!

MemberNoobMar-29-2012 12:00 AMI'm pretty psyched too that Scott is making this movie, returning to his Sci-fi/horror past and all. From what I've seen and read, this movie appears to have little or nothing to do with the 1st Alien movie other than set designs and images. I don't think it will fit with the story in Alien at all. So, hopefully, it will be awesome all on its own.
Never did include any of the sequels in my personal Alien universe...they were all pretty crappy, except Aliens, which I felt was really an action flick set in space.
And, as much as it seems that people want to make this out to be a really deep movie, it looks pretty straight forward: Guy Pearce opens things up with his comparisons to humans having achieved God-like status in the universe, builds and names a ship "Prometheus" (kind of a bad idea really, considering Prometheus' fate) and sends it off to "steal the fire"...and guess what happens next folks?
That written, I still want to see this more than anything else I have heard about this year.

MemberNoobMar-29-2012 3:34 AMHey guys,
I'm new to the site and let me just say what a wonderful resource to the new up and coming Prometheus movie this site is! I have followed the discussions on here for months now, although I haven't felt the need to contribute something until now which is why I decided to sign up. I'm a big fan of all the alien movies and have watched them all many times.
Look forward to being able to contribute to this community.
How do I post a new topic? I can't seem to see a new topic button anywhere.
