Film title

Does anybody know the title/star of the following film please? I saw a sci fi film a couple of years ago and can't for the life of me remember its name. It was set in small west USA town. The nain character developed amazing powers after undergoing a treatment. I think maybe it was for some illness but not sure. Thanks
