Movie or TV show

I remember a scene in a movie or tv show in color where a creature that I remember looking like a huge armadillo or pig looking thing gets hacked with an ax possibly inside of a cave and wormy or spaghetti looking stuff came out.  I keep hearing like a wah wah wah wah music in the back ground.  This scared the bejesus out of me as a child and can't for the life of me remember it.  My dad was the sci fi / monster movie person so we were always watching them when I was younger.  I keep thinking Twilight Zone or one of those old alien type movies.  

Any thoughts??????
