Name of old Scifi B movie with Potato head aliens

The movie was on Comet TV approximately 2 years ago during a Alien Invasion movie marathon.

I don't remember the name of the movie but the aliens looked like potato heads and they had little tongues that just constantly popped in and out of their mouths.

Told some friends about it and they think I'm making the movie up, so I want to prove them wrong.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me with finding the name of the movie. Hopefully its available on DVD or download.

Thanks for replying, no its not. I think mars is in the title though. The aliens look similar to Dr. Who's Sontarans with the helmets off.
