Chapter 2
"Sunlight"
Read chapter 1(parts 1 and 2) if you haven't!
After the incident with the strange insect creature the tall monster, that the newborn now recognized as a caregiver, seemed to be more paranoid than before. The giant would spend a lot more time near the entrance of, or in, the nest it had fashioned more than a year ago under the earth. The only time it would leave would be to hunt more food for its newborn or to go ward off any other monsters who came near its territory.
The tall monster watched as the newborn grew. The little monsters legs eventually grew sturdy enough to walk on and it hobbled to and fro throughout the nest. One day while the little one was sleeping, the taller animal heard a familiar rumble,a sound which terrified its species for centuries and it came from the surface. The giant gently, but quickly, grabbed it newborn from the next and, clutching the newborn to its chest, tunneled up to the surface.
The newborn was shaken awake by a loud crunching sound, like rock being broken open. It looked around and saw nothing but darkness. It did, however, feel something pressing him to a warm surface and soon a bright, blinding light flooded its vision. After 5 min, the little one was able to see clearly again. The first thing it noticed was that it was being held in the tall monsters hand, the giant monster then slowly put the newborn on the ground. The newborn inspected its surroundings. It saw that it was on a grey rough surface, several giant spikey rocks extended for miles across grey floor. In the distance he saw a colossal structure. Even bigger than the tall monster, It looked like a large mountain and appeared to be emitting a black smoke, which covered the sky with darkness.
While the newborn was taking this in, it suddenly heard a loud grunt. The tall monster had walked a few yards away and was signaling for the little one to follow. The newborn stood on its hind legs and instinctively followed its caregiver. They walked several minutes, the tall monster leading with the newborn directly behind it, when the tall one suddenly stopped. It sniffed the air, changing into a fighting stance, and gave a loud bellowing roar. The newborn felt the ground start to shake, it gave a squeal and latched on to the tall monster.
The ground suddenly broke open several feet away from them, creating a large hole in the ground.. The tall monster gave a startled growl and backed away from it, protectively covering the youngling with its body. The creature that emerged from it looked similar to the insect creature the newborn encountered, but it was taller than the newborns parent and had 4 small arms in its underbelly. Its front two arms looked drastically different aswell, resembling giant claws than insect legs. It also had more defined eyes, which glowed orange.
The newmonster gave a loud cackling roar and faced the tall creature and its youngling. The little monster was pushed back by the tall one, who gave another mighty roar towards the insect-like creature. The insect growled and charged towards the parent, biting it in the neck with its mandibles. The caregiver roared and used its arms to pry the creature's jaws off of it. The insect hit its enemy with a slashing claw in its neck, the parent reeled back as visible blood could be seen coming from where it was struck. The parent suddenly and violently turned around, hitting the insect with its large tail. The new creature a thrown sideways to the ground. The parent took this opportunity to move to the newborn. The little one was hiding behind one of the many tall rocks. It squeaked in surprise when the tall creature scooped it up in its grey hands and tried to move quickly away from the insect creature.
The insect creature steadily got up of the ground. It looked over to where it could see the giant lizard starting to run away. It gave a roar of frustration and suddenly knelt to the floor. It then sprung up into the air, one of its large arms reeling back, and hit the tall lizard in the back. A loud boom could be heard coming from the insects claws, it was even louder than one of the giant lizards roars. The lizard gave a painful roar as several of its dorsal plates broke and it collapsed to the ground, dropping another, much smaller lizard..
The newborn got up from its painful fall. It found that its parent had not only dropped it but, in its momentum, accidentally thrown the newborn a few yards away. The newborn got up and looked back. It saw the insect creature giving a triumphant roar, the scary creature was standing over the newborns caregiver, who was laying down on its stomach. Its back spines looked as though they'd been snapped off. The tall creature lay still under the insect. The newborn hobbled away from the insect-like creature. It heard a loud breaking sound and the feeling of the ground shaking again. When it glanced back it saw that the insect creature and tall monster were gone. A large hole and several broken back plates were the only evidence they were ever there..........
Long chapter today because I didn't want to separate it into parts again.

I won’t explain prepositions, or participles or the grammar everyone knows exists but don’t know what they do.
