Looking for a sci fi movie with water

So i've been looking for a title but i can't quiet remember what the movie was about.

The movie had something to do with water, where aliens (?) would come to earth and abduct people through water. At one point a swimming pool and at another point there was water in a library when they were looking up what happened in that town.

Maybe a bit of a longshot but i hope someone knows what i'm talking about :)
