MemberTrilobiteMay-04-2017 8:49 PMI have seen some turds but Plan 9 from Outer Space ranks way up there.
You?

dk
MemberTrilobiteMay-04-2017 8:56 PMOMG- what a stinker!
A good way to see horrible sci fi and be able to enjoy it is to check out MST3K imo.

MemberTrilobiteMay-04-2017 9:04 PMWasn't Laserblast an Atari 2600 game by Activision? Cool game for its time.

Had some good tidbits I was able to glean, and pretty solidly decent SfX, BUT there was a ton of Potential in that movie that was just wasted.
It had the potential of being Great, instead it came off scattered, confusing and nonsensical.
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

dk
MemberTrilobiteMay-04-2017 10:31 PMThe Phantom Planet is one of those movies that is so bad that is almost good because it is so bad.

AdminPraetorianMay-04-2017 10:40 PMOff the top of my head i'd have to say, Alien vs Predator: Requiem. I second Raido in that the new Lost in Space movie was unwatchable too.

I thought there was a silent agreement not to even mention AVPR lol!

MemberTrilobiteMay-04-2017 11:03 PMTrust me- if you want to see the cream of the crap and have it watchable, you must watch MST3K. It is the only way.

MemberOvomorphMay-05-2017 1:23 AMWell I seen some stinkers in my vast movie viewing time and can safely say the worst I've ever had the misfortune to endure was the movie The Black Hole.
Notable only as it was the final movie Anthony Perkins featured in before his death. (and then only for the first fifteen minutes).
The special effects weren't. The model space ships were derivative. The script, if there was one seemed to made up as they went along by Z grade scriptwriters.
And to say the acting was wooden would be an insult to wooden floorboards anywhere in the world.
The dialogue was inane and for a movie that apparently had a budget of $200 million I could safely say that somebody walked away with $199 million 'cos the movie reeked.
The $1 million was probably spent on the only thing worth seeing and that was the Black Hole itself. Which in its day was quite impressive....
My only advice for this movie is shampoo your tomcat, perform vivisection on your leg, watch paint dry, wax polish your Granny if fact do anything but watch this waste of your life.
This is possibly the only movie I've seen that I'd give a minus rating to blow Z grade!
AVPr was actually a comedy if looked at in the right light.
BBW I agree Supernova had potential but was an exercise in frustration well there are limits to inanimate objects!

Attack of the Killer tomatoes...OR...
The Incredible Melting Man (drops mic).

...Hunter, with James Spader. It was so bad I even rejected it as crap when I was a youngster who enjoyed horrible direct-to-VHS films. That bad.
The female characters were walking around the spaceship in their undies for no apparent reason, and when Spader tries to comfort a badly animated blob of polygons (the CGI alien), I couldn't endure any more.
Probably one of the films Spader wants to forget (if he hasn't already)

MemberFacehuggerMay-05-2017 2:28 PMAlien Resurrection is abysmal
I dont have the time to list everything wrong with this trash heap. Maybe after having Alien and Aliens and then watching this it makes it worse but this movie is awful:
* Tone
* Horrible dialog
* The cheeze factor
* so many stupid moments
* basketball scene
* captain looking at his brain after getting hit, it was horrible plus his lines and acting were awful
* ricocheting bullet scenes
* the stupid newborn
* shoehorning Ripley into another movie
* some weird stylized sexual tension with Ripley mixed with hokey humor out of a movie like Brandan Fraser The Mummy...again tone is all wrong
* Piss poor script
* eye roll inducing moments and dialog
Im being repetitive but i really hate this movie, this guy sums up alot of the things i hate

Beneath the Planet of the Apes was a good movie. It is actually similar to Alien-Prometheus series in style.

MemberTrilobiteMay-05-2017 3:59 PMPector Beneath POTA was a fine movie but I think it was weakest in the series.

Pector
MemberOvomorphMay-05-2017 6:56 PM@dk Beneath POA was the best in the series for me. It has the most mystery element in it and did not involve time travel backward which to me is impossible.
But even without that consideration it is still better than at least 4th or 5th installment which had clumsy 60'ish hippy left wing politics.
P.S. Yeah and I loved that girl with a very curvaceous body. mmmm.
