This is my first posting and wondered if this would hold out. In Alien Resurrection, winona ryders character was a synthetic and think that Walter is. Close to human where David is an android.
Now my theory ... What if David Knows about the eggs but has no idea whats in them. But knows that he would need something alive to open them. Seeing the captain get face love, he sees the effect of the life cycle has. Then as he gets another of the crew to an egg and instead of the crewman getting facehugged he manages to capture the face hugger before it infects the other and then infects Walter somehow. Combining both mechanical and biological resulting in the xeno everyone loves

Your theory could explain why David (or Walter) stood idly by while the CPT got face hugged. I think we would have to assume that Shaw was out of the picture prior to that event though.

If that is the case I wonder what major role that will play out to.

MemberTrilobiteJan-02-2017 10:41 PMIt is entertaining to imagine that the scene was with Walter. The CPT is responsible for everyone on the Covenant. If he and Walter happened upon the egg, maybe the CPT told Walter to stand away while he examined it. Walter was just following orders. Unlikely scenario but fun to imagine.
