Miniature filming Death Star Tower model from ROTJ

MemberNoobMar-15-2016 3:55 PMI've always wanted to own a filming miniature from one of the original trilogy films. I've seen some pieces sold at auction and realized that financially I still needed my truck and didn't want to double mortgage my house, therefor, I couldn't really afford a "identifiable" piece.
Then this Li'l beauty came along. It's a miniature Death Star Tower used for distance shots. The Prop Store of London had several available. They were all made for ROTJ. Some were screen used(you can tel because it was stated and you can see the glue markings on the bottom). Some were prepared for production but never used. I managed to score a screen used version of this particular miniature.
The miniature is a whopping 5/8th's of an inch high. It stands well and I'm pretty proud of it. I'll be posting this in my blog (Sci Fi Prop Guy) shortly after this.

@ PLAYBOY
Deborah Borkman is an American model of Swedish and Japanese descent. She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its July 1976 issue (photographed by Phillip Dixon). ILM modelmakers put a miniaturized copy of her centerfold, inside the ****pit area.
And as far as I know, the model has retained that pin-up featurette to date. I never realized Princess Leia's spacebandit is a Corellian Corvette. O-Miss Silly, I should know that's so totally like Navy ship jargon. Still, I always liked George's concept of 'hot rods' in space.

MemberNoobMar-16-2016 11:35 PMThanks folks. I heard about the centrefold. I visited the Fort Worth Museum in Texas (2007) during a Star Wars exhibition. They had all kinds of miniatures and costumes used in the films. I tried to get a good shot of the Tantive IV ****pit but it was behind glass so the flash killed it. This was the best shot I could get. I think you can still see the centrefold.
Yours truly beside an ANH miniature X-Wing...the camera flash lit up the flourescent tape on the models engines (nerd giggle, giggle)
P.S I've got the Definitive Making coffe table books for Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back...there awesome...don't know if there's an ROTJ coffee table book..have to take a look. Thanks Sawa :)
