"pterodactyls" aren't a thing.

my favorite pterosaur  has got to be ornithocheirus, for sure.

INDIANA JONES - Interestingly enough, I actually read a recent bit of paleontological information that suggests the term "pterodactyl" has its strongest roots within older television shows and movies, such as the Flintstones, the Land that Time Forgot, Journey to the Center of the Earth and the Lost World (not that which is related to the Jurassic Park series). Much like what CARNOSAUR has been so kind to illustrate, it would appear that the name Pterodactylus was shortened to Pterodactyl because it was phonetically "awkward".

As for my favorite pterosaur, I believe I must second CARNOSAUR'S nomination for Ornithocheirus! That was one marvelous and incredibly massive pterosaur! I can only imagine what such a creature would have looked like on the wing! :)

My favorite pterosaur would have to be Pteranodon. Tupandactylus is a second.

Ornithocheirus is my third.

"Pterodactyl" isn't really a thing. It is sort of the word your not supposed to say in Paleontology, its forbidden. If you refer to a Pterosaur as a "Pterodactyl" around a Paleontologist it really makes you sound dumb. Lol

There is no such thing as a pure predator. A meat-eater is eit

yea. i have begun to despise anybody who says pterodactyl or brontosaurus, because then they just don't know anything. PterodactylUS is cool and pretty big, but i like hatzegopteryx the most. then comes quetzalcoatlus.

Just like ANKYBEATSALL2498 says, pterodactyl is an aka name for pteranodon, dimorphodon and other pterosaurs for people that still think dinosaurs are big green godzilla-like monsters
