PS3 Godzilla Game's Monster Roster Hinting at Possible Future S.H.MonsterArts Releases?!?!

Hey there, G-fans!

I had a thought I thought I’d share with you all regarding the new Godzilla PS3 game, and the future of the S.H.MonsterArts toy line!

By now, I’m sure you’ve all beheld the glory of Adult Mothra, Biollante, and Jet Jaguar as they will appear in the upcoming Godzilla game! If not, check out Gojira2k’s newest update to the game’s main thread:

http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/37742

With that out of the way, here’s my thought… Michael Shipman, purveyor and creator of the S.H.MonsterArts: The Articulation Series website, has a close relationship with Tamashii and Bluefin (the producers and US distributors of S.H.MonsterArts, respectively), and he is privy to knowledge (such as upcoming and in development figures) that he cannot share with the public… at least not completely. As we all know, the monsters in the Godzilla PS3 game are 3D scanned from the S.H.MonsterArts figures, due to their detail and screen accuracy. Here’s the kicker… Michael recently shared in the Toho Kingdom of forums that 90% of the monsters in the game were created using 3D scans…

90%, eh? Let’s do some math, shall we?

Here is a list of monsters confirmed or rumored to be in the game:

Heisei Godzilla

Legendary Godzilla

Kiryu 2003

King Ghidorah (Heisei)

Mothra (Larva and Adult, both Heisei)

Biollante

Jet Jaguar

Destoroyah (unconfirmed)

M.U.T.O.'s (unconfirmed)

Rodan (unconfirmed)

Gigan (unconfirmed)

That’s seven confirmed monsters and four unconfirmed, for a total of eleven possible monsters (or twelve if both the Male and Female MUTO’s are confirmed). Now of the confirmed monsters on this list, all but Jet Jaguar have MonsterArts figures currently out or upcoming. Of the unconfirmed monsters, Destoroyah, the Heisei Rodan, and Final Wars Gigan all have MonsterArts figures, and the MUTO’s do not. If Rodan and Gigan are confirmed for the game, chances are they will be the Heisei and Millennium versions.

That leaves us with two MUTO’s and Jet Jaguar. That’s one confirmed and two possible monsters WITHOUT MonsterArts figures. With 90% of the monsters reportedly scanned from MonsterArts models, is it possible the inclusion of Jet Jaguar, and the possible inclusion of the MUTO’s, is indicating that prototypes exist for MonsterArts versions of these characters? The math seems to be in favor of that theory!

Now this is all speculation, mixed with a fair bit if wishful thinking, on my part, but I thought it was worth mentioning! What do you think? Does the inclusion of these monsters indicate that MonsterArts figures are forthcoming? Would you be interested in seeing/buying S.H.MonsterArts MUTOs or the awesomeness that IS Jet Jaguar? Comment and speculate away!

Oh, and if anyone is interested, Michael recently updated his Monster Forecast, which presents three kaiju that might POSSIBLY be announced in the coming months!  These are NOT confirmations, but with Michael being a shoe-in at Tamashii, chances are at least one of these monsters is coming up soon... check it out!

^ An Orga figure would be pretty cool. What if it was large enough to fit Godzilla's head and neck in its mouth? MUTO figures would be cool also.

^First of all, that would be AWESOME!!!!  Tamashii could very easily include extra mouth/chest parts to replicate Orga's distended mouth!  Lets hope they actually do it!

Second of all, a recent inquiry into the possibility of a screen accurate Godzilla 2000 figure resulted in a "no comment" from Tamashii.  Yeah, nice try. :) They're working on it, and its part of Michael's Monster Forecast for January, 2015!  If they make a screen accurate Godzilla 2000, you'd better believe Orga and perhaps Megaguirus aren't far behind!

What I'm really, REALLY hoping for is lower prices on the figures. :T

Also, an Angirius figure would be nice, along with the original Mechagodzilla.
