Old and New Godzilla Soundtrack Samples!

Whoa.  I've never heard any of these except "Godzilla!", so this was an wonderfully awesome treat!  "Godzilla's Victory" was mind blowingly IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Nice. It only got me more excited.

I am sorry, but I just hate this soundtrack. It is so not what I expected it to be.

Yes, it's not what I expected too. I was thinking it will be dark mooded hanszimmerish tracks. But you know what? THIS soundtrack is amazing. It's like something oldschool.

I think it's hilarious that the only people unhappy with this soundtrack so far is G-Fans. The film score world is going nuts for this thing so far for not sounding like another Hans Zimmer clone and utilizing a full orchestra.

I like it myself. It's no Ifukube, but it does indeed sound fresh, fun and different.

Sounds very generic to me. Not that impressed. Any of those tracks could have worked with so many other types of films. It sounds like a good composer, knew his craft, was hired, then came up with something to earn his bread and butter, and it sounds good, not great and not inspired.

They could have done a ton better than that.

and is there anything wrong with not really liking it? I think its ok, itll do the job, but it didnt really exceed my expectation or impress to be honest. It's not very in spirit of ifukube much because it is totally different and new, it's just fine. I mean I'm not dissing people for Liking it now am I? If you like it, then good for you right?

You're going to have to point out where I actually said there was something wrong with not liking it instead of firing all missiles at a non-sequitur. I merely mused that it was humorous most people except Godzilla fans aren't real taken by it.

also to add into what i think, I kinda wished it were around a nice noticeable and grabbing repeating theme, something that we KNOW is the Godzilla theme. It for the most part sounds just as background filler music to me, like i said it does the job, but it doesn't stand on it's own well. oh well

Out with the old, in with the new, and I like it. More serious then the original. It's now time to adapt to this godzilla. And realize he's changing. and we can't do anything about it. This is godzilla, this is his score, and if you don't like it fine but you must realize he's changing And the world loves him, and this score, and some G fans can't be happy about what they hear. Weird?

it's hard to judge on it's own really!  I thought the music was great with the 5 minute wonder con clip so it maybe better to see how it fits with the movie and it dosent sound like his other film scores so it cant be a dashed together too earn a buck project for him.

For all we know at this point, there could be a noticeable, repeating theme in the soundtrack.  But we're only getting small portions of the soundtrack, too small to know for sure what main themes and leitmotifs are actually going to be present.  The sample tracks above might very well contain repeated themes in a form modified to suit whatever scenes they're from.

If any of you play the new browser game , You'll know that the music fits the action quiet well. I personally like it.

Nobody liked the Asian trailer music? I thought that was f**king awesome, and that was made by this guy. Who ever his name is? I forgot his name. 

Coming back to the point about repeating themes, now that I've listened to this music carefully several times, there seems to be a sub-melody that is present in both "Godzilla!" and "Two Against One."  Perhaps this is the main theme of the movie?

Not sure if anyone posted/knew this, but the entire soundtrack was posted on Spotify. I only listened to a few, because some tracks I knew would spoil the movie for me. I'm not sure if this a legal thing to do (sorry for posting if it's illegal). My opinion on the music is... it's great! No, it's not like Ifukubes but that's because this isn't for that type of Godzilla. This for a new Godzilla and I think the music is great, some of the songs have very clear japanese sounding instruments to them. It's different, yet It still makes me think of Godzilla.

Basically, not as memorable as Ifukubes but I still prefer it over all the music from the Millenium films (especially Final Wars).

my honest opinion of the samples is they sound like a video game soundtrack....which makes me curious how it'll fit in with all the scmitz that's gonna happen in the movie

The soundtracks are unique. Their theme are classic! It doesnt feel like other modern soundtrack. They are great but not all of them. Some of them are good but not the best.
