MemberNoobFeb-25-2013 1:54 AMThe original "Blade Runner" was someone that smuggled surgical supplies, into an apocalyptic NYC of 2014. And from the novel "The Blade Runner" (1974) by Alan E. Nourse. In 1979, "The Blade Runner (A Movie)" screenplay adaptation, by William S. Burroughs was officially published.
Burroughs wrote the screenplay (set in 1999), with Stanley Kubrick in mind, as the director of the film. In the end, it was decided that the film would be too incredibly expensive to produce, with any sense of realism. Anyway, Hampton Fancher, as well Ridley, liked the title. Michael Deeley agreed, & obtained permission to re-use it, from both writers.
Burroughs was a big believer in this 23 enigma. It is quite possible a few involved read his screenplay, & were also very aware of Burroughs' superstitious belief (regarding the number 23). Both Nourse, & Burroughs were officially thanked in the credits of the film; although, there may have been an additional tip-of-the-hat to Burroughs, or even a bit of poke. And maybe just plain coincidence.
I wonder if Burroughs got reeled-in on the bait-hook (intentionally or not), once he heard the number of colonists killed. Also, even went as far as to check for additional occurrences of this dreaded number, himself.
Off-World colonists killed by escaped replicants = 23
LAPD spinner 995 (9+9+5 = 23)
Rachel's phone # 555-7583 (7+5+8+3 = 23)
Roy Batty's serial # N6MAA10816 (6+1+8+1+6 = 23)
J.F. Sebastian's address # 46751 (4+6+7+5+1 = 23)
Deckard on the Esper machine line: "Enhance 15 to 23."
Essay sighting the 23s in BR (aside from Batty's serial + Esper line):

The above-linked essay offers a very different idea about that topic. I found a more reasonable speculative angle myself; nonetheless, was interesting enough for a deeper-look, into these occurrences. =P

Olympic "Blade Runner" Shoots Girlfriend on Valentines Day:
(Feb-2013) South African Paralympic & Olympic legend Oscar Pistorius was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly shooting his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, after mistaking her for an intruder in Johannesburg.
Early reports say Reeva Steenkamp, a 30-year old model, was shot after waking Pistorius for a Valentine's Day surprise. A police spokesman stated, “The deceased was shot 3-times through bathroom door, & died on the scene."
Pistorius is a double-amputee whose accomplishments have inspired people, worldwide. He was born without fibula bones below his knees, & his parents chose to have his legs amputated below the knees when he was an infant.
He's known as the "Blade Runner" because of the carbon-fiber prosthetic legs he uses. Last Summer in London, he became the first double-amputee to participate in an Olympics.

"Blade Runner" ...one nicknamed/real-life, & the other from the film; both brutally gunned-down a beautiful woman, with a pistol (multiple-shots fired).
A strange-synchronicity, & one straight-outta "The Twilight Zone".

MemberNoobFeb-26-2013 6:23 PMif I remember correctly was Michael Deeley who changed the original script title "Dangerous Days" to "Blade Runner". Good choice for him.

MemberNoobFeb-26-2013 6:46 PMYes, Deeley agreed with what they wanted, & he obtained the rights. I think "Blade Runner" was a far more interesting title, too.
Thanks Montesco. ;)

Yes, no doubt ...I actually didn't look at the date this was created, until now. I was first under the impression, that it was before the Valentine's Day execution (wrong):

THE SUN in Britain, was also on her quickly (famous for their topless models), & she's even has been accused of cheating:

The entire-thing is getting stranger (of course):

It seems to me, that he is guilty as charged. The forensic-evidence against him is enough. If that doesn't scream murder, I don't what does. Once the burglar defense goes out the window, it likely will become one of crime of passion (if that's even allowed). And the defense will attempt to smear her past-reputation, etc.

One last sync. with the film, starts on February 14th:

Valentine's Day = DOD Reeva/DOB Pris (Incept Date)

With Pris also being a "blonde" pleasure "model", & the date-portion of her serial #: 21416 (2+1+4+1+6) = 14. Reeva/Daryl (Pris) shared the same body-measurements (34B-24-35) ...both with blue-green eyes, as well.
According to Oscar, Reeva was surprising him for Valentine's. Just as Pris surprise attacked Deckard, in the film. Both men aimed to kill the intruder; however, the women each were guests of the owner. Each account is fictional, from pages in a script; one in a South African court (pending), the other from Hollywood.
Reeva/Pris were both fatally shot 3-times; at close-range, with a powerful handgun. And with each of them, by a man known as a Blade Runner.

MemberNoobFeb-28-2013 4:24 PMYes, it did Svanya ...as it's nicer to have the capture over the plain text. I did since find a BR HD captures site. Maybe it can come in handy for future postings. ;)
I also updated the original post in this thread, with Montesco's suggestion for further (embedded) detail. I'm glad a few here have read this thread, as it is a time-consuming effort. I appreciate the bits of help, too.
Thanks Svanya + Montesco. ^_^
