PR2 Ideas?

I absolutely LOVE how many possibilities exist for the Pacific Rim sequel and I thought I'd start a thread to throw around some ideas. (I haven't read any of the comic or the novelization(yet) so I may end up listing something that one of those has already dealt with.) If it ends up being a sequel, not a prequel, I think it could go one of 2 directions. It could deal with the aftermath of the Kaiju war on our planet and our society, and how the world might run into and overcome problems as we try to rebuild; it could also follow the heroes from PR and how they deal with having won the war at some cost, what purpose they serve now that the Kaijus no longer pose a direct threat, and how they adjust to everyday life, because there was almost no room in PR to deal with personal and interpersonal issues, so they could make more room for that sort of content in the sequel. They could even take almost all focus off of the heroes from PR and follow the effect of the war on a small family or the political landscape of the post-kaiju world. The other option I see for a sequel would be the effects of Newt's Kaiju drift technology and the 2 times humans drifted with the Kaiju hivemind. Humans might try to find out more about the race that created the Kaijus and the world they come from. Since Newt and Hermann both have shared memories with the Kaiju hivemind, humans might try to use technology from that race to try and either communicate with them or launch a counterattack if they learn any weaknesses they might exploit from Newt or Hermann's information. A prequel would have countless opportunities. It might focus on previous Jaeger teams or the history of the Jaeger program. It could detail more the early years of the war from the eyes of someone growing up during the first attacks and show them getting involved with the defense efforts. There's any number of details in Kaiju history that could be detailed in a full movie with such a cool premise(e.g. the aftermath of K-day, the response to nuclear force being used to stop Trespasser, the initial invention of the jaeger program and the development from the first, scrapped-together Jaegers to ones that started consistently winning, etc) Those are just some of the ideas I think would be cool to explore in PR2. Do you guys have anything you really want to see in the sequel or any ideas you wanna discuss?
