For the first time in 60 years, a gigantic mega-predatory dinosaur has been discovered in the United States.

The partial skeleton that has been used to make this announcement was first discovered in 2008. Though the specimen was not fully grown, the researchers speculate that adults may have grown to be 30 feet (9.1 meters) long from tip to tail. Additionally, it is difficult to guess what Siats would have actually looked like. While bone structure and overall body shape can be derived from the skeleton, the actual coloration of the skin and feathers is largely hypothetical. Artist Jorge Gonzales has depicted Siats as having brown skin, soft feathers, and a black stripe on the face.

The dinosaur lived about 100 million years ago in the transitional time between the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

I'm not actually impressed. Sure ito 30 feet long, but I I consider 40+ to be big and impressive.

I love Siats. And I see it's having a lot of press lately.

Siats is an impressive beast. 30-40 ft long and 2-4 tons. Scientists consider it the 3rd biggest predator from N. America.

I think I heard about it on the radio. Was it found in Utah? Radio station said that there is now proof that there were large carnivores before T-Rex in North America, and I'm just sitting there like:

Haha, nice picture. That's true. I was thinking, "Hello! Ever hear of Acrocanthosaurus, Allosaurus, Daspletosaurus, Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Lythronax, Torvosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Saurophaganax, and company?" Apparently not.

And yes, it was found in Utah. Hmm, Utah seems to be yielding some impressive finds. First Lythronax, now Siats..

That picture was one of the first things to come to mind, and I've been wanting to use it for a while on something.

Hmmm... good radio you listen, haha. In the last months some very unique founds have been made public. Very interesting and unique founds, such as Deinocheirus, "Titanovenator", Lythronax, and now Siats. Is this cool or what?

I listen to it for the music, not the scientific news. As you all know, I like country, so guess what the radio station plays.

It looks kind of like the possible official concept art on this website of the dinosaur. Carnotaurus had like horns on its head instead of like "fins" in the concept art. This actually looks like the art pretty closely..
