Largest category 3 kaiju killed.
Does anyone have a sketch based on that tattoo of him? The movie now shows there were not just the 12 in the movie, but dozens of kaiju the movie never showed. One a month one would appear or every few weeks. I hope fanfics can be written showing this. :)

MemberNoobJul-18-2013 6:56 PMThere were not only dozens, but probably hundreds of Kaiju that didn't appear on the movie, as well as dozens of international Jaegers we didn't see too. That's why I'd prefer a prequel instead of a sequel to Pacific Rim. I'd like to see the other Jaegers and Kaiju, Cherno Alpha kicking ass and Gypsy Danger piloted by Yancy and Raleigh. Nothing against Mako, but the movie only shows the later days of the war, and it sounds like we missed SO MUCH.

MemberNoobJul-18-2013 8:49 PMTrue the movie did show the last hour. I'd like to see both a prequel and sequel. Yeah, Cherno Alpha defeated many kaiju as did Crimson Typhoon (47 times). We never see Cherno's Tesla shock punch that is said to be it's primary weapon. The game has it, not the movie.
I just got the movie novel and it does give a bit more, but not a lot.
I'd like to see Reckoner alive and see what that was like when that kaiju first showed up.

MemberNoobJul-18-2013 9:30 PMCrimson Typhoon has a Kaiju kill count of 7, according to the art book, and Cherno has 6.

MemberNoobJul-19-2013 6:21 AMYep... I kinda hate they were disposed of so easily on the Hong Kong battle having that kill record... and nobody seemed to care. Does the artbook show any of the other jaegers? The ones not shown in the movie, I mean.

MemberNoobJul-19-2013 7:06 AMIt shows 3 Mark-1 Jaegers. I believe they were the ones shown destroyed towards the beginning of the movie.
Horizon Brave, Tact Ronin, and Romeo Blue.

MemberNoobJul-19-2013 10:02 AMFrom the book and from what others say. There were a lot more kaiju and Jaegers than in the film or art book, a lot more. The movie novel even says after one attack in Japan, they did teh same thing that is seen in the movie with the skull of Reckoner. The difference is they treated the corpse in Japan like how you would have treated an enemy in mideval times by putting the head on a spike facing the sea to show other kaiju that this will be them if they do not stop.
The novel also gives more details on the previous kaiju attacks between 2013 and 2025. There were hundreds of attacks. Yamarashi attacking San Diego and shredding Queen Mary into pieces before coming ashore and being confronted by Gypsy Danger and during the fight has it's head cut off. Who knows what became of the corpse of that kaiju. Still this would make new material to add in fanfiction.

MemberNoobJul-20-2013 9:41 AMThose stories of previous battles sound awesome... that's why I'd love to see a prequel instead of a sequel.

MemberNoobJul-20-2013 2:51 PMAt least we got to see a tatoo of Yamarashi.
Personally, I wanted to see the kaiju "Hardship". All we got of him was a shoe.

MemberNoobJul-21-2013 3:55 AMHardship was even more elusive than Yamarashi or Reckoner.
At the beginning of the movie, there's the scene how they glorified the Jaeger v. Kaiju battles. One of the scenes shows a Romeo Blue shoe v. a Hardship shoe. Kind of like get your Romeo Blues, now with greater comfort soles. Something like that.
Point is, I want to see what Hardship looked like. Also, Hardship can't be a Jaeger because part of the mythology is that the two pilots each pick one word to describe the Jaeger, hence two word names.
