MemberNoobJul-17-2013 1:58 AMHey doods, new to the forum and after today, Pacific Rim is by far the best movie I've seen this year. But why did they make the game so cheezy and drab in comparison to the movie? They is plenty of source material to base a good mech game from ex: the Armored Core series, Front Mission, Gundam, Eureka 7, now Titanfall, and many others. Why they settled with a fighting game with a very poor move list and slow combat surely baffles me. Anyway, this thread is for discussing a new game and perhaps our ideas will reach the current dev or maybe a new dev. Either way, something better can be done. Just to clarify, this thread is for game mechanics, storyline discussion, customization options, etc.

MemberNoobJul-17-2013 7:06 AMWell to be honest I don't think a game format like Front Mission's or Armored Core's would make any sense here. The movie is about the jaegers and kaiju mostly engaging in melee combat, and they are pretty big and slow ... so the game tries to emulate just that. Sure, the moveset is kinda limited, but it's just an arcade game after all...
I would've liked more jaegers though, maybe some of the ones mentioned in the universe but unseen in the movie.
