So No. A lot of these Monsters are Re-imagined from the Old Japanese monsters actually named Kaiju

@ IPA - The [b]Stephen King[/b] novella, of the same name, itself was inspired by Kaiju classics such as Godzilla.

Between Cloverfield and The Mist, both of those monsters look amazing unrefined. And terribly designed.
