MemberNoobOct-06-2012 9:18 PMI just find this interesting article about Weyland and Tyrell posible connection
for BR 2.
It's looking like Ridley Scott is trying to connect the Alien/Prometheus and Blade Runner franchises. ThePlaylist has caught an Easter egg from the steel book version of Prometheus that has a memo from Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) on his mentor. The mentor Weyland talks of is likely Eldon Tyrell who formed the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner. Considering the new Blade Runner film has been confirmed to be a sequel it's likely it could focus on the company and replicants in the wake of the death of Tyrell. It's been rumored that the sequel's protagonist will be female and won't focus on Deckard (Harrison Ford).

MemberNoobOct-07-2012 2:39 PMMontesco,
remember in Blade Runner, when Eldon Tyrell put his hand on Roy Batty's head, "You have shined so very very brightly, Roy."
Reminded me of this pre-dissolved Prometheus mural:

I can see Eldon doing this to young Weyland, up there in his mentor's palatial bedroom-***-office, stroking his doting head THE WAY THE ENGINEER STROKED DAVID8'S DOTING HEAD in Prometheus.
Mwuahahahah!

Beautiful very well done!, how did it? Its something like
"Michelangelo's Creation", mythological and divine.
Prometheus has many singularities as BR, the scene you are pointing me is really significant and symbolic.

Admin2KOct-07-2012 9:31 PMLike I said on Tankgirl's post from a couple days ago (Has the Promethus Universe been fused with Blade Runner's?), I don't think it is anything more than an easter egg. I personally would rather Ridley did not merge the two. I personally think it is more likely the story for Blade Runner2 will be taken from Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human as Ridley has stated the main protagonist will be female and that is indeed the case with this novel.
@Montesco ; The Image Custodian posted is taken from the artbook: Prometheus: The Art of the Film If you want to look at more images from that album, you can find it on our sister site Prometheus-movie.com Gallery :)

MemberNoobOct-15-2012 5:20 PMOH HOW I HOPE!!!, personally i think the 3 franchises should merge, hear me out. 1. BR never has to have aliens, its not about mixing, its about connecting. 2. Both Prometheus and blade runner center around the concept of what it is to be human, and confrontation with thier creators. Case in point: david and weyland, shaw and engineers, batty and tyrell. Then deckard thinking hes human, sean youngs character realizing shes a replicant, david and hollaways conversation, gaff making unicorn origami to make deckard realize he has memory implants, gaff possibly being a replicant, tyrell being a replicant. In my opinion prometheus and blade runner are more alike than alien and prometheus. The fact that the opening sequence to blade runner 2 sounds an awful lot lke the opening sequence to the original blade runner which was never filmed. The fact that the blade runner retrieves a jaw with a serial number makes me think that the product will be a mixed replicant that has parts made by weyland. A temporary joint venture that weyland departs from.

MemberNoobOct-15-2012 5:35 PMI think it would be interesting for Riddley to portray that BR and Prometheus stories happened in the same Sci Fi universe.Maybe an add for Weyland Industries in BR 2 or something.
I mentioned in a Prometheus post once that the first Blade Runner film is rumored to have a Weyland/Yutani add logo somewhere in the street scenes.I know that the Atari logo is in there.Maybe the new Blu Ray will shed some light on that :)

MemberNoobOct-17-2012 8:15 PM@ ncc-1701, billy ray cyrus as the next bladerunner would be better than avp, actually billy ray chasing after nsync, backstreet boys, and new kids on the block...who all turn out to be replicants created by a former tyrell employee played by boy george would be better than avp

Admin2KOct-26-2012 11:26 PMI would simply like to add this here, it is a direct quote from Charles de Lauzirika, the man who created the supposed communique written by Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce), which made some pretty obvious allusions to Blade Runner's Eldon Tyrell.
He apparently got the idea from fans online trying to connect the dots between the two acclaimed sci-fi universes, and thought he would have a little fun to see if anyone would catch on. Of course, everyone did:
"That was me having fun and being cutesy. I wrote all that stuff. I actually said this at the press conference they had in London, which is that if it's in the film, it's canon. I would argue that the viral pieces that are included in the Peter Weyland Files are canon just because they originated with Ridley and Damon Lindelof. I would say those, to some degree, are canon. But anything else - especially these which are kind of like little cute, embedded text graphics on the menus - I wouldn't take those too seriously. It's just meant to be an in-universe framework for those viral pieces."
"As a Blade Runner fan, and because there's been so much talk before this even occurred with people on the Internet speculating that maybe Alien and Blade Runner and Prometheus could all exist in the same universe, it was just more of a wink at that. Absolutely nothing to be taken seriously. I mean, I sent it to Ridley and he had no comment. [Laughs] So, it's just icing on top of icing. It's not the cake. It's a fun, little side thing that's very superficial. And, by the way, it in no way officially establishes that it's Blade Runner because, if a lawyer were to comb through that, there's no reference to Tyrell or anything in Blade Runner. It's just a very lightly intentioned joke."
So as you can see, it is NOT canon, it was just something he thought would be fun to add to the DVD.
