I'm only 38 so I didn't get to see Bladerunner until 1984, but the world around had been infected by it and I was glad to finally see it at the theatre when The Directors Cut came out and then later seeing it in the open air on a trully huge screen at night and surrounded by hundreds of silent people (no matter how messed up anyone was, all were silent for the film and its on of the most wonderful experiences I have had). It became my favorite film about 85 and that has never changed. It changed my reading habits and I would promote these books to anyone that loved BladeRunner: Will Gibson,Virtual Light, neromancer, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive (the author quotes his love for amphetmine, Blade Runner and The Ramones as influences for his books). Bruce Sterling is also a worthy cyberpunk writer! This year someone made me a special cake (I guess they noticed my obsessive love for this film)

A Blade Runner sequel worried me until I saw Loom 4k and I realised it can be done and done properly!

Admin2KSep-25-2012 12:20 AMOMG cool ad!! I have never seen it! And the cake is totally awesome!!
I first saw Blade Runner when I was very young, I remember just being mesmerized by it. I begged my parents to get me the tape of the soundtrack but it never sounded right. Years later I found out why, that soundtrack wasn't even Vangelis, for some reason the proper soundtrack was never released with the original movie screening. In 1994 I was able to FINALLY get a real version of the soundtrack, I can't even express the joy I felt listening to it. I swear when the movie was re-released in theatres I cut class and went to see it every day for a week, it was awesome.
