MemberNoob06/18/2011Hi I'm JonseyTheCat! I've been a fan of Alien since about 1980. I was first introduced to the film on a school skiing trip to Austria. This kid sat next to me on a long coach trip from Italy to Austria (location was changed as there was no snow in Italy!). At the time I was 12, and this guy, a year older than me had snuck into a cinema and watched it (this was in the UK and Alien was rated X - over 18s only!). After he graphically retold the whole film and in particular, the chestburster scene I was completely hooked. Back in the UK and a few years(?) later, Alien was screened late night on TV. I watched it with my dad, who had been as equally hooked after I relayed the chestburster scene again! I remember starting the film on the sofa, but as soon as Kane starts choking on his food, I'm down by the side, hands covering my eyes, heart beating fast, and ready to hide/scream/runaway! I was so relieved when it was over, but absolutely fascinated from then!
I've enjoyed the subsequent sequels to Alien, although none have matched in my opinion the originality of the first. That said I can't wait for Prometheus and just to have a fraction of the terror and aprehension I had over 30 years ago would be amazing..... I'm counting on you Ridley!!!

MemberNoobApr-02-2012 12:47 AMI'm NixtonV. The minute I saw the Prometheus trailer in theaters for the first time, I knew I was a fan. I honestly don't care if the xenomorph appears in the movie or not (ok, I kind of want it to, lol), because knowing Ridley Scott, it'll be great regardless. I have a few theories of my own that I'm willing to share and discuss, and ultimately I just can't wait until this movie comes out. Love the cast and the premise, and it'll be great to see the story Scott has planned out for us.

Promethean
MemberNoob07/5/2011Hello, I am Promethean and I've been an Alien fan most of my life. I watched the first film when I was a kid on home video and it freaked me out! I've always wondered over the years what the creature did to poor Lambert to make her scream like that! I saw the three sequels in theaters and, of the three, I have to say Aliens is hands down the best. Parts 3 and 4 have their moments, but they are nowhere near on par with the first two. (I really don't even consider the AvP films to be part of the series. They've just made the Aliens less scary and more hokey, in my opinion.) I can't wait to see what Prometheus has in store for us! I'm very excited and I hope to God it lives up to my expectations. With Ridley Scott back in the director's chair, I've set the bar pretty high!

Nostromo
MemberNoob07/22/2011Hello everyone, glad to be here! I've been fascinated by the Alien films since I was a kid, and just think it's surreal that Ridley Scott is not only directing a new sci-fi film, but one that has to do with Alien! I was too young for the first two films, but remember when Alien 3 was in theaters, and actually went to see the 4th one. I love Alien and Aliens equally; they're both so good in their own way and complement each other so well.
Thanks Praetorian & prometheus-movie.com staff for starting up the site. It's a great idea, and the content, layout and site design are spot-on. Like everyone else here, can't wait for Prometheus!

MemberNoob07/26/2011Hello to all on this site. I have just joined today after visiting a number of times in recent weeks. I think this site is a great idea and hope its a great hub for up to date info on the humungous Prometheus movie to come. I have been a major Alien(s) fan for decades and although a little disallusioned with Alien 3 (Hicks and Newt's demise) and more so with the 4th installment I stand loyal to the core idea's of Ridley and its origins. More of this please Ridley and all is forgiven for Robin Hood...

MemberNoob08/3/2011Hey there people, just dropping a line to say hello and introduce myself. Cant remember when i first saw the Alien films, but they and that universe have been part of my life for so long i cant imagine life without them. And, on a personal note i camt wait for this new film, even if Giger's iconic creatures are marginalised, it WILL lead to more trips into this universe.
P.S. great site, and look forward to exchanging views with people both like minded and not.

MemberNoob08/19/2011Hello Mates! My screen name is Cain, though spelled differently on here. I first Alien when I was 7 years old. I begged my mom to watch it and she let me. Needless to say after watching this delightful film, I was in my bed, looking under my bed and at the closet the whole night. Alien propelled me to go to film school and be a writer. I have to say that I love Alien the most and I like Aliens for the military aspect. I was in the military for 13 years of life. Alien though will always remain my favorite film. I love the dark mythos and the mystery that shrouds this world. I am hoping that Scott does well with Prometheus and we are once again scared beyond anything when we see it in the theaters.
Glad to be apart of this fun community!

MemberNoob10/8/2011Sup everybody,
I noticed this thread, so I thought I'd join in. I'm a web designer who has a Bachelor of Art degree with a specialization in illustration. I also have experience in graphic design and print. I thought about going back to school for a graduate degree in art, but I realized what's the point?
I've been an Alien fan since I was about 8 years old. My dad showed me Aliens first and then I watched Alien and Alien 3 (which made me super depressed at the age of 9). I was one of those dork kids that analyzed everything about the movies and had fun doing it. I compiled detailed files. In that regard, I also have an investigative mind and enjoy doing research on very specific topics.
Aside from that, I'm an avid runner and I run races (I'll be doing a 10K soon, several 5Ks, and a marathon in January).

MemberNoob10/8/2011Hello my fellow Alien fans..My name is Stephen. I first saw Alien when I was 6 years old and it scared me so much that I fell in love with it. Alien was a driving force to make me go to film school and to be a writer. Sir Scott has been a mentor for me in my film making I like to say that I stuck with him through thick and thin. I love film making and I love writing and it has evolved into a passion that I can not let go of. It is good to see other passionate fans and followers of Alien here and to share my thoughts of a film that molded into the film maker that I am today!
Good to meet you guys! I am in the US...I lived in New York City for most of my life and then I joined in the military and lived in Germany for 8 years.
You guys rock! Rock on!

MemberNoob10/8/2011Sorry all I just wanted to finish but I have to just say its great to see all these fans that share the same amount of enthuasism about alien and blade runner that I have. I have to say that those two are tied for number one on my list. Anyhow thats all I got!
Predatordreads
MemberNoob10/8/2011Hey hey! My name is Predatordreads and all I can say is I have always love sci fi for as long as I can remember. I remember seeing Star Trek the motion picture and I w as so facinated with the scene where spock got into the space suit to explore vger and it was just so epic! My mom and dad saw alien in rhe theatre before this and they told me that I would be blown away once I saw it but they wanted me to wait until I was older due to the chestburster scene. But one night in 81 I think I was 5 alien was the friday night movie on abc. My prents let me watch it up until the space jockey part and it blew me away. It was almost like the shining in space it was just so bizzare and chilling I had to sneak and get the rest of the movie so I saw the rest of it on the black and whit screen tv.

MemberNoob10/18/2011Hey y'all; my name is Jessa. Unlike the rest of you, I only discovered Alien a couple of years ago. My brother bought Alien Vs Predator along with the original series boxset, but the rehash put me off watching them for a while. I still have to cover my eyes when the alien bursts out of John Hurt's chest. I'm very much looking forward to Prometheus - I don't think there will be anything quite like it. I saw Blade Runner years ago, and fell in love with it despite being to little to really understand it properly, i just remember thinking the soliloquy at the end was so beautiful.
Aside from Alien, I'm a bit of a film buff. I adore anything starring Buster Keaton, and as typical as his films may seem, I aspire to be Christopher Nolan (I highly recommend Following - fantastic piece of work). I like indie music, 12'' records, and collecting things. I write reviews, etc, etc. Hello to you all.

MemberNoob11/17/2011Hi people, been in for a while on and off but I thought I would give you all a little information!
I'm Steve from the Welsh border, originate from the Midlands and work in the NHS. Been a huge sci-fi / science fantasy fan since '77 when I was taken to see Star Wars. I'm a huge Alien / Aliens fan, but have little time for the 3rd and 4th movies, as they just seemed to totally miss the point..AvP wasn't bad but could have been better, the sequel was dire sadly.
I'm a great fan of all things Ridley Scott also, my third best movie is Bladerunner, a movie I saw after reading the comic adaptation in the very early 80's, love the original Philip. K. Dick novel and follow up books too. Other SF interests include a lot of British born stuff like Blakes 7, vintage Doctor Who, Prisoner and Quatermass.
I am, still today, a massive Star Wars fan, with a huge collection covering every aspect of vintage and modern, including a 300 piece Clone Trooper army, a loose and carded figure collection numbering 800, 25 vintage carded figures and other bits and bobs...
Really looking forward to the new Alien movie, great to see Ridley going back to what he does best.

MemberNoobMar-09-2012 7:11 PMHi fellow fans, i was only 13 when i first saw alien and having been into hammer horror films from as early as i can remember i was always into collecting anything related to sc fi and horror. The horror films are not so appealing for me these days but a damn good scfi you cant beat.
I was fortunate to see the film screened by my uncle at a youth club in my home town. An exception was made for me as he had a small hand in some of the effects and technical aspects of the original film and i was given permission to view it for those reasons. After that i was hooked like everyone else and it has stayed with me to this day.
It was Cine projection in those days no video, or dvd how things have changed lol.
