Tron: Ares crosses $126 million amid lowest October Hollywood Box Office performance in 27 years!

October 2025 marked one of the lowest performing months at the Hollywood Box Office in 27 years! Excluding the devastating pandemic impact, movies that released last month struggled greatly to make decent return on their investments. Tron: Ares was one of many titles which saw abysmal Box Office returns throughout the month of October.

Considering the odds were heavily stacked against it, it's a miracle the Joachim Rønning picture crossed the $100 million mark at all, having stagnated returns early on. By its second weekend the film's Box Office momentum had slowed by 60% – a devastating blow for Disney who invested around $180 million to produce it. As THR reports, collectively the whole of Hollywood barely amassed $425 million altogether – figure the industry hasn't seen since the late 1990s.

While Ares failed to make good on its investments, the film did resonate positively with fans and most of those who have seen it. Had the economic climate been more forgiving, perhaps it would have fared better. Nevertheless, this leaves us wondering how November will shape up as we head into the Holiday season – Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands arrives in theaters next weekend (November 7th) and Studio analysts anticipate a strong $250 million opening. The odds seem more favorable for Predator, given the unanimously positive feedback and enthusiasm the film has received from early screenings already – an asset Tron: Ares did not have.

Regardless, it's great to see Tron: Ares finally made over $100 million globally – under 50% of that coming from overseas markets. As it stands, the film has earned just a little over $126 million in total.
