In recent years Becky Gomez, or "Becky G", has been active as a Latino pop singer, taking only a few minor television roles. Next year, however, she will morph into the Yellow Ranger, Trini.
Gomez recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly on a new image of Trini being threatened by the controversial looking Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks).
"Rita tries to make Trini feel like she’s the weakest link of the Power Rangers, and she feels it’s easiest to go for her. Rita’s the type to play a lot of mind games, and Trini’s [thinking], 'Can I really overpower Rita Repulsa or can I not?'”
Additionally, Gomez seems to confirm that in some capacity she's in the Ranger armor doing some fight choreography. Traditionally, the actors playing the Rangers are swapped for stunt doubles who are used to performing martial arts in-costume. It seems Gomez and the other actors get a few licks in though:
"...in our Power Rangers suits, they’re not the most comfortable [to fight in], so to have to do action scenes in a costume, it’s pretty brutal."
Gomez also confirms that some reshoots are on the way and she will be present at San Diego Comic Con next week.
"We’re done with the majority of filming now. We have some reshoots coming up which I’m excited for, because I’ll get to see everybody again. We have Comic-Con before that, which is even more exciting because it’ll be my first time ever."
