The Deathclaws in Fallout Season 2 are not CGI!

Fallout Season 2 Episode 4 finally introduced the infamous Deathclaw and fans can't believe it's a real puppet!

The Deathclaws in Fallout Season 2 are not CGI!

Fallout on Prime finally introduced the long-awaited Deathclaw – the Wasteland's infamous monstrosity! Episode 4 of Season 2 showcased the Deathclaw making short work of The Reds breifly during the opening scene and concluded the episode with a climactic cliffhanger as The Ghoul and Lucy stand face to face with another one in New Vegas. The best part? The Deathclaws, as well as most other creatures in the series were made using practical effects! Jonathan Nolan opted for suits and puppets over reliance on CGI, making scenes with characters and creatures more intimate and realistic. We leaked photos of the Deathclaw suit/puppet last summer. The finished product looks magnificent:

What are Deathclaws?

In Fallout lore, Deathclaws are the result of the U.S. Military experimenting with various animals to try and create a cheap alternative to Human soldiers for warfare. They are essentially mutated Jackson's Chameleons, spliced with DNA fragments of other creatures. When the bombs fell in 2077, the captive Deathclaws broke free from their confinement and ventured out into the irradiated wasteland. They are arguably one of the most formidable opponents in the games and are not easily killed.
