Nearly three years of the release of Stranger Things Season 3, we finally have the release date for Season 4. As via Netflix and the show's creators Matt and Ross Duffer, it will consist of 9 episodes and the total runtime of the season will be double the amount of any previous season. With that being said, the season will be split into two volumes, with Volume 1 containing the first 5 episodes and hitting Netflix on May 27th! Volume 2 will have the last 4 episodes and will release on July 1st. In addition to that, we have five teaser posters teasing what's to come in the highly anticipated season. The show also released an official plot synopsis as well:
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
In other news, it has also been revealed that Season 4 is the penultimate chapter in the series as Netflix has officially renewed the show for it's fifth and final season with potential spinoffs being hinted at. There is more information about this in an official press release, which you can see here:
