Sony's Venom movie to be R-rated! Filming begins this Fall.

It's good to here this, Venom is one of my favorite marvel villains, if not the favorite.

Same here. Always preferred him to everyone else. That being said I feel I'll be very critical of how they portray him in this film. 

I guess it makes sense that the movie would be rated R.

This is really promising. I'm hoping that means we will get Carnage in it. I also hope they make Venom an Anti-Hero, and really use the incredible history of the character to make a great movie. He's one of the coolest villains ever, and in my opinion, not only my favorite Spider-Man villain, or even my favorite Marvel villain, but my favorite comic book villain, period. (followed by Deathstroke and The Joker) 

The Netflix Marvel are set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and feature R-rated violence and gore, so their success could also have influenced Sony in their possible decision to make Venom R-rated.

I also highly recommend the Venom: Space Knight comic series.

IMO the first movie should explore Venoms origins, Brock's secret fight against cancer and the suicide of his wife, placing this against Kletus Cassidy's murders the movie could end with Brock and Kletus sharing a cell at Ryker's Island prison, alluding to Carnage being the antagonist for the sequel. Jackie Earle Haley would make a perfect Cassidy, unsure about whom should play Brock though...

Expecting lots of gore and graphic content.
