Power Rangers' New Megazord Revealed

Action figure leaks and official images of the new Power Rangers movie toys have surfaced revealing the new Megazord. The result is... Puzzling--Certainly divisive.

While the new Megazord manages to avoid looking like the rather vulnerable Autobots and Decepticons from Michael Bay's Transformers series, it lacks the iconic trait of appearing like a massive, robotic combiner. Ironically, it looks more like a suit of armor.

Leaked images show the combiner toy fairing a bit better--Although it looks a bit flimsy, it has more color and shows traits of a traditional Megazord make-up. (Note the Mastodon and Triceratops legs.)

The toy of the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord, or "T-Rex Zord", was also recently revealed--Looking less like a prehistoric creature and more like a Xenomorph from Alien.

Although these designs are barely recognizable and lack personality, it is worth noting that these are merely the toys. The on-screen execution could very well turn out okay.

What do you think of the new look for the zords so far? How does it compare with the original, iconic designs? Lets us in the comments.

Looks cool but it doesn't retain the cheezy look we had before.

I wish they gave it a face and not just a flat mirror. It's face kinda reminds me of the ninja megazord from the first movie.

Note I think that cgi megazord looks laughable so not a good thing.

I definitely agree it looks more like a normal suit of armor than a towering robotic combiner. I'm worried they tried too hard to modernize and spice up the design. Seems to be the trend lately.

^Agreed... It took me forever to realize what the arms were supposed to be. I'm hoping it will feel more like a Tyrannosaurus when it moves--Perhaps being a stationary piece of plastic is taking away from possible articulation that might make it look more like a prehistoric creature. But so far... It doesn't look anything like any of the Tyrannosaurus zords.

It all may have been a little too far...
