If you love Sci-Fi books and movies, you are sure to love Sci-Fi games, even if you are not usually a gamer. The Sci-Fi gaming industry has really taken off in the past decade, with many Sci-Fi games taking inspiration from books and movies within the Science Fiction genre. Today we present our pic of our favorite Sci-Fi games that you should try out.

Jurassic Park

The Jurassic Park Slot game is at the top of our list. Most of us grew up with the Jurassic Park movies so the characters and story have a special place in our hearts. This slot machine game is great fun to play as it has a variety of intriguing features. These features include, but are not limited to Dinosaur themed Free Spins, Wild Reels, Mystery Multipliers, Wild Multipliers as well as the amazing T-Rex feature.

All of these features mean that the game play is varied and you will not get bored easily. Also, the graphics are pretty phenomenal too. In Addition, all fans of the Jurassic franchise will be overjoyed to hear that Universal Brand Development has agreed to partner with Microgaming for the development of a Jurassic World slot machine game. Hopefully this will be released soon as it promises to be just as good as or even better than the Jurassic Park slot game we all love.

Star Trek

Our next Sci-Fi gaming pic is Star Trek Online. This game is at the top of the Sci-Fi MMORPG sub-genre, with a huge fan following. It allows you to choose between becoming a Klingon Warlord, where you have the opportunity to develop the Empire further into the galaxy, or you can be the Captain of a Federation starship. Another great aspect of the game is the level of customization in which you can partake. You are able to share your own created and designed content with the Star Trek Online community.

Battlestar Galactica

Battlestar Galactica Online is another fantastic Sci-Fi game for you to try out. With this Humans vs. Cyclons game, you will be entertained for hours. The graphics here are pretty impressive, and add to an overall enhanced experience of game play. This game also boasts a great in-game chat platform where you can connect with other gamers and fans. You also get all the benefits that come along with it being a MMOG; thus allowing you to play against thousands of other players online. If you are a Battlestar Galactica fan this game is going to make you very happy.

BioShock

This game, released in 2007, is a bit old and nearing the ten year mark. It is, however, still a favorite among many. And for good reason too. Set in the 1960s, this FPS is fast paced, and full of drama. Your protagonist crashes his plane in the ocean, near the underwater city called Rapture. He has to defeat a variety of enemies with various weapons and fight for his continued survival.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park: Chaos Island - Its an RTS that uses the command and conquer engine that is  based loosely off the events of the second movie but the overall storyline is very different. The first two missions you start on Isla Nublar where you meet Sarah Harding (in the movie she is on Isla Sorna) after the third mission till the end of the game (Mission 10 on easy, Mission 12 on medium and hard). One major difference from the game and the movie is the ability to breed controllable dinosaurs in addition of playing as the main cast to The Lost World (Ian, Sarah, Nick, Eddie, Kelly) and the dino-fodder research assistant. You potential fight wild dinosaurs on the Island but they mainly stay within their territory, near their eggs. Hunters actively try to destroy your base. But like an RTS, you have to harvest resources by sending one of your characters to collect supplies and eggs. There are at least 20 buildings: A Base Camp (which you use to hire the main characters that you didn't select at the mission start and research assistants but also this building is require to be allowed to build the other structures and its where your characters drop of supplies and eggs), a tent (which is a low level healing building) an Artificial Nest (basic slow Dinosaur hatchery), Fire Barrier (keeps wild dinosaurs away from your base), a High Hide (healing building but also great for getting your characters away from wild dinosaurs), Tool Shed (The first upgrade building, this where you can upgrade your base camp), Incubator (advanced fast dinosaur hatchery), Shelter (High level healing building), Power Shed (medium upgrade building) and the Science Lab (High level upgrade building); and last but not least there are 8 playable dinosaurs: (weak to strongest) Parasaurolophus, Compsognathus, Dilophosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor, and Tyrannosaurus.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park: Trespasser - probably the most infamous Jurassic Park game since it was released as a broken game but it was one of the earliest open world games to be released back in 1998. You play as an original character called Ann and you crash landed on Isla Sorna and you have to venture across the island to find away off it and you run into many types of dinosaurs on the way and you discover Ingen's past through audio clips of John Hammond narrating from his memoirs. The Dinosaurs you encounter are Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor (Tribe A, Tribe B, and Tribe C), Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Tyrannosaurus (Green, Brown, and Red), and Utahraptor.

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis - Arguably the most well known Jurassic Park game since you are given the chance to build your own Jurassic Park, Dinosaurs genus are: Dryosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Homalocephale, Ceratosaurus, Camarasaurus, Torosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Gallimimus, Triceratops, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, and Tyrannosaurus.

Alien Isolation - You play as Amanda Ripley and your mission is to find your missing mother, Ellen Ripley from the Alien movies.

Alien vs Predator 2 - You have three interconnecting storylines to this great game, although it lacked the graphics of AVP 2010 and maybe wasn't as hard as AVP classic but this game has a wonderful storyline and gameplay (since its the only game to where you can play through the alien lifecycle). The Alien storyline is roughly kickstarts the entire plot, you are an escaped facehugger that must first find a host, he must be isolated otherwise you getting killed by the containment unit after that you are a chestburster that must first chew through his host's chest and then find a hiding spot to grow into a Xenomorph Drone.

The Predator storyline pretty much is happening during the Alien storyline but its more revolves around the Prince Predator (player character) and the head of the Iron Bears mercenary General Rykov.

The Marine Campaign centers around Corporal Andrew Harrison who is separated from his squad in the beginning and later parts of the game with a brief level where your with your comrades. The Marine storyline takes place after the events caused by the Alien but theres a part of the game where all three storylines converge since all three storylines end around the same time.

Starcraft series - Its an RTS where you can play as three races: Terran (Human exiled convicts that turned colonists) Zerg (reptilian insectoids with some breeds that are parasitic while others have the ability to assimilate any species into a zerg), and Protoss (Highly advanced race of psychic, no mouth, no ears, no nose reptilian plant people; since they can go through photosnythesis)

Oops I forgot to include Halo, Mass Effect, and the Half-life series!

My favorite dinosaurs are the Dilophosaurus, Tyrannosauroids (T. rex and Yutyrannus being my top picks), Dromaeosaurids (The Raptors), and Carnotaurus

I don't personally hate the animal spinosaurus itself but the public perception of it. People tend to make the spinosaurus stronger and smarter than it actually is, a big dumb fish eater. Well I kind of have developed a grudge against its Hollywood portrayal of it ever since Jurassic Park III for killing Tyrannosaurus in a very unrealistic fight; ps T. rex should of won that fight since it did get the first bite. So no I will not add spinosaurus to my dinosaur list.

^I don't like all the false depictions, but you shouldn't hate a dinosaur because of some humans who refuse to see it correctly.

It would be hard listing top games from just the franchises on the site, much less the whole genre.

Well I don't hate the real Spinosaurus but its still not going to be in my top ten favorite theropods or dinosaurs, maybe my top 20.
