Award winning actor Ewan McGregor has calmed the nerves of Star Wars fans everywhere after news of production on his Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series for Disney Plus being placed on hold surfaced online. Immediately, fans were quick to assume this meant the Kenobi series might have entered development hell with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy pulling the plug on the series after they decided the screenplay needed reworking. It appears however, that there is no need for panic.

McGregor sat down with ComicBook.com recently to address the delay and mentioned the situation is not as dire as we all initially thought:
It just slipped to next year, that's all. They felt like they wanted more time to write the episodes...
... Instead of shooting this August, they just want to start shooting in January, that's all. It's nothing more dramatic than that. It often happens in projects, they just wanted to push it to next year.
It's nice to hear confirmation from McGregor himself. This confirms production is still on track, just delayed half a year and also that Ewan will still be reprising his iconic role as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
It's also worth mentioning that during the original report announcing the delay for the Disney Plus Kenobi series, it was reported that the series was going to be trimmed from 6 episodes to 4. But, as of this latest interview, Ewan was unaware of that change. So, we may still have a 6-part series to look forward to!
