In the closing moments of Star Wars: The Force Awakens The Millennium Falcon arrives on a mysterious ocean planet with rocky islands scattering its surface. After landing on one of these islands Chewbacca, R2-D2 and BB-8 wait by the Millennium Falcon as Rey ascends a winding series of stairs to find the last Jedi, Luke Skywalker before handing him Anakin Skywalkers Lightsaber, last used by Luke in his duel against Darth Vader on Bespin, when he learned the truth that the Sith Lord was in actuality his father.
These scenes were originally filmed at Skellig Michael, a series of islands once off the coast of Ireland. A protected heritage site, Lucasfilm announced previously that they would not return to the location so as to not damage the historically important site.
It was recently revealed from the novelisations of The Force Awakens that in the Star Wars universe the planet on which Luke was found is called Anch-To, and is reportedly the site of the first Jedi Temple, as confirmed by these amazing set pictures from UK Newspaper The Daily Mail that show the amazing recreation at Pinewood Studios, London of the rocky terrain of Skellig Michael, the Millennium Falcon and what looks to be the first Jedi Temple...
