If you haven't yet played Destiny, you might want to wait until the 20th of September, when Activision release the Destiny: The Collection.

This new version will include the original game in addition to the four expansions: The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron.

Developed by Bungie and published by Activision, Destiny had an overall budget of $500 million dollars (including development and marketing costs), so it makes sense that they would release this new collection to try to squeeze out even more cash. It's already been criticized for its expensive microtransactions, but at least The Collection sounds like it has enough content to justify a full price tag. Check out the trailer below:

The problem with Destiny isn't the micro-transactions (AKA Silver) it's the extortionate prices they charge for DLC. So far this game has cost me £170...

- £40 Game (at launch)

- £40 Expansion Pass (at launch) which allegedly was to give the first two expansions at a discounted price. when each expansion was released they were £20 each.

- £40 Taken King - Rather than release the third DLC as a standalone DLC for £20 as with the previous 2 the only way to purchase Taken King was with all the content I already had.

- £10 - Destiny (preowned) - Upgrading from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One I purchased a preowned copy of Destiny as I was informed by my retailer that all content should be downloadable from the game menu, but lo and behold only the first two expansions were available for download. Checking Bungie's website I found out the Taken King was not available for "Upgrade" customers so...

- £40 - The Taken King - again I had to purchase the whole collection despite only needing the latest DLC because of Bungie and Activision's heinous pricing strategies that seem intent on ripping off loyal fans of the game while conversely giving newcomers all the content for much, much less than what those loyal gamers have been forced to pay.
