Pacific Rim 2 has released a substantial number of casting for the film in the past month. The latest report regarding the film indicates that the cast is growing more diverse. Deadline reported today that Adria Arjona will join the cast of Pacific Rim 2 after closing a deal with Legendary Pictures.
Arjona's role is currently undisclosed. She will headline the tv series 'Emerald City' in the role of Dorothy Gale in a new retelling of the Wizard of Oz. Arjuna also starred in 'True Detective' in a substantial role.

Pacific Rim 2 will take place after the events of the first film, with Star Wars' John Boyega starring as Stacker Pentecost's son. Cailee Spaeny will also star as a lead in an undisclosed role along with Levi Meaden. Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi's return are yet to be announced. Plot-wise, it was mentioned early on that the sequel would explore more of the Kaiju's origins and of course, introduce us to new Jaegers and technology.
