I’m writing this fresh from having just seen the movie, so this really is an initial reaction. Firstly, I really enjoyed it and it certainly took me a little while to let the whole experience sink in. In a word “clever”, it is a very clever film. It is certainly up there with Alien and Aliens, but it is also its own thing. It works well with the whole Alien universe. There are one or two little niggles, but the more I reflect on these, the more I realise that they are what steers the direction of what Ridley Scott appears to be aiming to achieve in the long run. This is definitely a must see movie. There are still some gaps that need to be filled in, but I think we will see this done in the next movie to a larger extent. Generally, there is a lot to take in. The only real advice I can give is to just go and see it. It is its own thing with a variety of nods to what’s gone before. As for Fassbender, he was excellent and proves that every mission needs a good synthetic. He was wicked. Well worth seeing
