Pacific Rim is 100 million tons of gorgeous awesomeness! It honours and celebrates Kaiju tradition, the beauty of anime and mecha, whilst creating it's own mammoth universe. Guillermo Del Toro has lovingly crafted practical effects with CGI. He has chosen a fine cast who make an excellent counter-point to the mind blowing action. He even blends in nods to some of his favourite movies, such as the knife-flick-nose scene from Polanski's Chinatown to the BladeRunner-like street scenes. The end result is a spectacular, inventive, epic and fun adventure. You will love the incredible Kaiju designs and everyone who sees it will want to be a Jaeger pilot! Now, "Where's my goddamn shoe?"
