After the critical flop of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Spielberg handed the reigns to Joe Johnston. Jurassic Park III follows a rich family as they hire Dr. Grant to help them find their son who is lost on Isla Sorna. The plot is as much of a joke as you think, but Johnston does a better job of not taking the film too seriously, allowing the viewer to return to the World of Jurassic Park that they've all come to know and love.
Jurassic Park 3 wasn't able to re-capture the magic of the original, but it sure came a lot closer than The Lost World. Unfortunately, the only bright-spot of the cast is the return of Dr. Grant, along with a few scenes of Dr. Sadler. The major focus is on Pteranodons and they look tremendous, as does the scenery and the dinosaurs. Jurassic Park 3 wasn't the sequel we wanted, but many people view it as the more-rightful sequel to the 1993 masterpiece.
