This movie is so nostalgic to the nineties it is not even funny. I was not born when this movie cam out so I don’t have the nostalgia, but I respect the movie for its complete hilarity. It has the REM song Its The End Of The World As We Know It and that just makes me laugh. That song was also in Chicken Little and I laugh because the song is so old when the song was ten years old at the time. And I have to joke with this, how did that dog survive the fire. Anyway Bill Pullman is probably my favorite and the best movie president ever. His performance is a little campy and his speech about Independence Day is great and inviting, but this movie and cast know what the goal of this movie is and they do performances that match the characters perfectly. This was also Will Smith’s breakout performance and he has some great one liners that are so quotable that it is just so great. Then you have Ian Malcolm. Sorry its Jeff Goldblum being Ian Malcolm again. That is what I love. Roland Emmerich and the people who wrote the script and behind the screens realize that Ian Malcolm is such a likeable character and he is so likeable in this movie again. This cast is so great and then you have a few small appearances that include Data himself, Brent Spiner, as some doctor or computer guy who is behind the scenes helping out our main cast. The special effects are little dated like Air Force One in the background that looks pretty fake. But this movie did combine a good amount of practical effects with special effects like when they destroyed the buildings. Those parts still look pretty good. This movie is one of the best Summer blockbusters. It is definitely a movie to watch during the summer and on our Independence Day, 4th of July. I would give this movie an 8 out of 10 because the movie is a little campy which draw some people away, but it is a great popcorn flick. Please tell me what you think of the movie and follow me. Thanks. - JGeorgeVH
