Review Godzilla Minus One film review by Shobin50

Let me start off by saying I fell in love with Godzilla in the 1960s. I also grew up with having atom bomb drills in school. I think that has a big influence on the fact that I loved this movie. It takes us back to the very beginning with Godzilla’s first attack on Toyko. Somehow watching the whole thing with Japanese actors speaking only Japanese, with subtitles, made it feel more “authentic” too. If you are going for an action movie like the Marvel series, then I think you might be disappointed, but hopefully you’ll still love it. I liked that the movie focused more on the lives of the Japanese, their PSTD, and their opinion of their government after the atom bomb, rather than Godzilla.
I still loved the scenes with Godzilla too of course. One thing that bugged me was before he comes to the surface, the water is covered with dead sea creatures. After he surfaces and he starts chasing the boat(s) the camera switches to an overhead view and they are all gone? Is it just me, or did it bug any of you too?
