Review Godzilla film review by Random008

The first 3 quarters of the film were all about actors and their characters, I can understand this however it is a Godzilla movie and should feature more of what we all know Godzilla movies have, big monsters fighting and destroying cities in the process. In almost all cases their seemed to be really well defined rules for all the different characters that only made me feel like they could have been easily replaced with cardboard cutouts with tape recorders. I honestly almost vomited in my popcorn bucket out of disgust for the overly bland and boring lines that have all been said (some even in the movie) again and again. Also having the personal view from someone looking at one of the giant monsters only irritated me because it seemed muted and dumb, why would you need binoculars to see a giant monster walking away when it’s not that far away? For crying out loud please quit ruining good sci-fi movies with personal perspective shot’s that only make me want to stab a director!!!
On the plus side there was some really good and cool monster fighting in the last quarter of the film, I personally think that the new Godzilla looks like a more modern version of the original, instead of the giant iguana from the Mathew Broderick Godzilla film. At first when the fighting started I wasn’t expecting them to give Godzilla his fire attacks but they did do that and in an awesome twist were able to actually make it apart of the end of the fight, classic Godzilla. I truly was expecting the end to be some sad twist that only went on to further add to the cycle of death that the human characters so blandly added earlier in the film, however the end was actually a high note and if a sequel is made to this film I would only as to have less characters and less of this over whelming personal involvement with Godzilla or the other monsters and make it about the monsters! After all they are what we want to see in these films, any stupid emotional connections that are supposed to be made only ruin the movie, because it makes the viewer feel like they should feel something for these characters instead of just watching the monsters duke it out like the original Godzilla movies!
