This film was incredible! The only thing that niggled me a small bit was the pace, it felt a bit rushed but only a minor complaint. The characters were well developed and introduced aswell. Godzilla didn't get much screen time granted, but the time he did get was well spent! He was beautifully designed and well teased, his battles with the mutos were brutal, fast, gut-wrenching and quite possibly the most exciting and well composed cg sequences ever produced! They were so realistic that if you were to turn on the television and see these monsters ravaging a city there would be no question in your mind if they were real or not! The scene in which the the male and female muto caress one another is perhaps the most evocative cg scenes I've ever seen. By the end you will feel terribly sorry for the muto pair, they were only ever trying to survive in a world they didn't know, though they did go about it in a rather destructive way! Another thing I found interesting, two things rather were the different powers employed and utilised by godzilla and the mutos! The EMP pulse released by the mutos was very well thought out and executed, as was the phenomenal atomic breath! employed twice by godzilla, it will have you on the edge of your seat always! My favourite scene in the whole film would have to be the scene in which godzilla fires his lethal atomic breath down the female mutos throat only to rip her skull of and roar after an incredible victory! The actors I would score an 8 out of 10, they were very good in fairness and brought a good level of depth to the film. It is a film I hold in very high regard and I cannot wait to see the directors cut! If you like a great story feuled by incredible and awe-inspiring cg banquets then this is the film for you!! A great solid film!
