Just returned home from watching it not even ten minutes ago and OH MY GOD(ZILLA)! This rivals Toho's best works in my heart for favorite movie. I will admit that it had it's scenes that my hopes for the movie's greatness faltered but it always came back ten times better then it was before.
*SPOILER AHEAD* The M.U.T.Os were absolutely beautiful in both design and execution. The roars are eery but not too memorable.
The king's return after a ten year hibernation was well worth the wait. I guarantee that I was grinning like an absolute idiot everytime the king bellowed whether in defiance of his rivals or in victory. I balled like a baby towards the end when it implied he was dead, infact, I guarantee there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Godzilla's atomic roar actually caught me quite off guard. I was not expecting it's appearance nor the timing but the timing was absolutely perfect. In the closing scene of the battle when Godzilla opens the MUTO's mouth and fires into, chills everywhere.
My main complaint was the musical score left something to be desired. The 'truimphic' music towards the end was a bit too much even for me.
All in all it was an exceedingly excelent movie with a very small amount of flaws (plot holes). I would highly recommend this film to old and new kaiju groupies alike. IN GARETH WE TRUST!
