Unfortunately I must agree with most of the reviews, The characters and the way the story was told was not the best, it was 'just fine', at best. There was something off in the pacing of the movie. I hated the fact that they killed off Joe Brody, who was the most interesting character, He would be a great lead. The dialogue and acting was not as bad as some of the reviews said, It was decent. I also hated the fact that the film kept cutting away from the action when it did not have to, Especially that the film teases you and shows you what it can do, but intentionally doesn't.
The CGI and the visuals were the best thing about the movie. I loved the creature designs and the fighting. The atomic breath was awesome and the way Godzilla was handling those mutos was just insane. My favourite scene was when Godzilla tail smashed the winged muto into the building, that was brutal.
Even though I enjoyed the movie, I was left unsatisfied, Similar to what I felt when I watched Gareth's first movie, Monsters. I must say that this film did not really feel like a Godzilla movie, Which is Too bad...
