Okay folks, so for those who have seen The Predator this topic will address the film's final scene in which the Fugitive Predator's gift is discovered. Obviously if you have not yet seen The Predator, this topic will contain MASSIVE Spoilers. If you have seen The Predator however, let's talk!

The Predator Killer

Alien technology developed by a group of Predators who, for whatever reason wish to aid the Human race by providing technology, geared for Human bodies, designed to kill - Predators. It is discovered at the end of The Predator that the Fugitive Predator had stolen this technology and left it on Earth to be discovered and exploited by Mankind. The Upgrade Predator was sent after the Fugitive Predator to retrieve this technology and prevent Humans from getting a hold of it - how very PROMETHEAN of that Fugitive Predator...

This suit adheres to the host's body - like an Iron Man suit, looks kinda silly in my opinion given its size - looks like a midget Predator. But design concepts aside, what I'm more so concerned with is the how and why behind this technology existing.

For the sake of this discussion thread, let's avoid replies such as "Because lazy writing" or "Dunno, it's a dumb concept", but actually try to provide some coherent debate behind your theories and opinions.

My main questions are:

Why do some Predators wish to help us?

Is it cause we helped them battle Xenomorphs when things got out of hand? Beyond those acknowledgements from the AvP films, I see no reason a Predator would wish to help Humans at all.

Who did the Fugitive Predator steal from?

He certainly did not steal from the clan which the Upgrade Predator belonged to. No way would a clan hell bent on destroying Mankind / moving into our Planet would create a technology with the ability to prevent that from happening. They were aware of this tech, but they did not originate it. Was the Fugitive the last of his clan - the ones who developed the Predator Killer technology and was the space-chase at the beginning of the film him retreating after the rest of his clan had been destroyed? Throughout the film, it's referenced that this Predator stole the technology though... so WHO did he steal if from?

Can it be reproduced?

Obviously, one suit of Predator Killer armor will not be enough to defeat legions of Upgrade Predators should they decide to make moves and invade Earth - like we're meant to assume will happen given the Predator's new found motives. So how can Mankind expect to defend themselves with only one suit like this in production? It's made with alien technology, using alien metals and energy systems we have no concepts of understanding. So... HOW do you think this tech can be exploited further?

I'm curious to hear your questions, concerns and opinions. Share yours below!

I'm not really a fan of the design either. When I first saw it I was thinking to myself "What type of fuck shit?"
I was honestly expecting Arnold Schwarzenegger to come out of the capsule and say "I'm back".

If I recall correctly, the ultimate predator called the fugitive predator a traitor.
My guess is; the predators had it in their possession (idk from who, maybe the tech was one of its kind) and wanted to destroy it since its capable of eradicating their own kind.
The Fugitive Pred stole it and carried it to earth. The ultimate pred. was then sent after to destroy it.

Humans being humans, having some predator tech will most likely make some weapons out of it. I do wonder how powerful the predator killer is.

The ending of the film is pretty much like the ending from the independence day resurgence.

Haha there were a lot of comments in the cinema about Arnie coming out of the pod....or a Xenomorph.

I have concerns about where this suit is going. I hope it doesn't turn into the IronMan suit of Predator. The biggest drawcard to this franchise is the dominate strength and tech of the Yautja over us puny humans. How do you beat that?!

But what good is one suit? It is either ridiculously over-powered and will turns the table's against the yautja too much, and where is the fun in that!

Or, its a suit capable of defending against the odd hunter or two but not a full-scale invasion. But then what is the point, and why now? They have been 'sustainably' hunting on our planet for centuries without causing population collapse. A few deaths here and there hardly seems like warranting gifting us their tech...something they have been avidly against happening.

My guess is the ultimate predator killer suit will be used against the predaliens that will come out of the upgrade predator.

I am glad Arnie did not come back to validate this terrible film.

My confusion was that the predator who came with it, didn't do a great job at being "friendly" to deliver the tech.  What's up with that?

I just hope there are still "normal" yaut'ja left in the galaxy.

But at first I thought a female predator was going to come out of the pod, like a yaut'ja huntress princess.

We don't know that the fugitive predator wanted to give the suit to mankind, these are only allegations. He was not cooperative with the humans he met save for Ms. Bracket whom he did not kill as she was naked and performing the quarantine procedure.

My guess is he wanted to deliver the suit for the next Avengers film but he was captured by the Fox guys so he could not accomplish his mission, ugly MF.

Ummm the Avengers are still humans(esque) depending on member.

I think the fugitive didn't want the humans to have the "predator killer", he left it on earth to hide it so either his fellow rebel preds could find it or when the time was right, he could use it against ultimate pred.

Or was if for Weyland-Yutani to face the xenomorph army of David?

Why had that predator human DNA after all? Was he also created by the engineers on the predator home planet?

Or was it David?

By the looks is David’s hand, and that was probably his biggest frustration, being unable to create anything in his own perfect composure, only ugly MFs.

@daliens

What?

The Weyland Yutani corporation doesn't exist during The Predator time (or even in that universe, if you ignore AVP).

Also i'm pretty sure the Yaut'ja Scientists gave Fugitive human DNA against his will.

David doesn't exist back 2018, (whether you include Alien/Prometheus as part of Predator canon or not) David wasn't created until the later half of the 21st century.

Xenotaris

You remember that David created the xenomorph, right?

And in The Predator we see that spear made from a xenomorph tail?

Somebody must have messed up the timeline somehow.

^ If someone messed up the timeline technically it was the Alien prequels since AVP came first.

well David may have created his own version of the xenomorphs or if David did make the xenomorphs, that severed xeno tail could have been from another engineer creation. Because the engineers have the technology to make xenomorphs and xenomorph-like creatures.

Hi, I just registered here in this blog for getting an answer from passionnated people as you guys are, regarding the end of the last predator movie. I was wondering (I couldn't find it elsewhere):

Has anyone brought the hypothesis that the Predator Killer is actually some kinda facecatcher aiming to implant Aliens in the first human host?

Several hints made my wife and I believe it from watching the movie. The gantlet lies into a black gue very familar to the Alien universe. Then it just jumps on a guy at the manner of a facecatcher to envelop him completly (face included), for no reason, and then drops down on the floor, freeing the guy, exhausted/scared. More importantly, we see the gantlet cavity completly empty lying on the floor, while it seemed not hollow originaly in the vessel (We did not watch it in very high quality, but my wife is certain that there is something moving inside the gantlet).

Can it be as so?

I don't think that the fugitive was trying to give us the suit in the slightest. Here's my theory..

To start. I think the fugitive had human DNA because he was a test subject. Since we know the yutja have a hard time breathing our atmosphere. It was an attempt to make them adaptable to our planet or take the best parts of our Gene's. Because, if you noticed, the ultimate predator that chases him down has been genetically modified and is extremely fast, JUST like the odd blue alien the fugitives killed in "predators" (referencing his legs and how they're bent backwards like the other alien killed). The yutja are genetically enhancing themselves with the best parts of the DNA of they're most formidable prey.

Secondly. I think the fugitive predator was from the lower class predators, as we learned in "predators" there are predators, and super predators(notably dark skinned and have red eyes). I think he stole the predator killer suit from the super predators in an attempt to share it with the lower classes and fight back against the supers. However he was caught and persued. And escaped to earth since earth is known territory to the lesser class, AND humans have proven themselves to be formidable foes.

As far as the suit goes. I think its symbiotic. It attaches and modifies itself to the first being it comes in contact with. Kinda like how the xenomorph change depending on the creature the face hugger attaches too. Hence why the suit was human sized. Also look at that pod. There's not just one suit in there. You could fit a hundred of those gauntlets in that pod. And your assuming with the advanced yutja tech that it isn't some kind of foundry. Insert raw material, extract predator killer suit. Personally I'm leaning towards bio-tech because of the black goo. I think they're grown. So insert biological material. Extract predator killer

I think I covered everything as far as my theories go.
